Why am I not losing weight?

Hello everyone!
So, here´s my story...
Since january, I have changed alot of bad (or not so good) habits; for example, I quit sugar, instead I use honey, just a tea spoon when I need to sweeten coffee, tea or yoghurt; I also quit soda, bread, cookies, fast food and junk food. I´ve been eating better; more fruit, more veggies, more water.
I´m a female, height: 1.65 m/ weight: 60 kg

I´ve always been active, but started working out regularly. I go for a run in the morning (about 45 minutes), then I do a routine (lunges, crunches, squats, push-ups...)

The thing is, I haven´t lost a single gram!!!

I´d say I have an average body type, maybe others would say I´m thin, but truth is, ALL of the fat goes to my belly; and it seems that no matter what I do, it just won´t go away.

I would like to hear from you; opinions, insights, etc..

Thank you so much for your help.

Sincerely,

N.

Are you logging your food and eating at a deficit? None of that matters if you're not eating in a deficit.

Unfortunately, you're not in a calorie deficit. Replacing sugar for honey, etc.-does not necessarily and automatically mean you're eating less calories. If you're comfortable opening your food diary perhaps we can help you better.

11 lbs to lose will go slowly and u will have to be very careful with your logging to lose. what are your calories set at?

So you're about 5'5" and about 132 pounds (for anyone not used to metrics). You're at a healthy weight. So any weight loss is going to be super slow.

And like someone already mentioned, it doesn't really matter what you give up or replace. The fact is, if you're eating too much you won't lose weight.

Get yourself a food scale and weigh and track everything you eat. And just be patient. It will come off but you have to be patient and precise with your logging.

You're eating more than you're burning if you're gaining weight. You're eating at maintenance level if you continue to be the same weight.

You do know honey is sugar? As others have said if you're not losing your eating too much. You only have a small amount to lose so it will be slow anyway. You need to log accurately weigh all your food sums set a sensible goal and have patience. Just to say depriving yourself of this you like may cause issues. Learn moderation of food. The foods you have given up there is nothing wrong with them in moderation

5'5" and 132? I'm 5'4" and 133. My TDEE is only between 1800-1900 calories and I don't do very much cardio...there's basically no room for error. I'm not saying I'm perfect (because I'm not losing either), but I know exactly why. Lots of extra licks, some things not weighed on the food scale, somehow I've finished a pint of ice cream with 4 servings but looking over the past week I only see three servings logged... (extra licks add up ha).

Eating better is great ... but eating better doesn't mean that you're eating fewer calories.

Fruit, for example, can be quite high in calories.

    Yep
  • Thank you all for your answers, I think most of them might be right.
Here´s what I usually eat on a normal day:

For breakfast, I have about 1 cup of papaya, 1 cup of natural (no sugar added) yoghurt, 1 cup of oatmeal.
At noon, I have an amaranth bar or a piece of fruit or a nut mix (1/2 cup)
In the afternoon, I have tuna, or salad, or chicken w/salad (normally, my salads include lettuce, tomato, panela cheese [non fat], cranberries, or so; vegetables such as carrots, green beans, squash; pasta with tuna or veggies.
A late snack may be some yoghurt, tapioca, or a cereal bar.
At night, I have a cup of cereal or a glass of milk.

    What do you think?

    Thanks for feedback!
