Soggy fingers ??

This is going to be a really strange post....

Could be a coincidence, but ever since I have started my calorie counting and drinking plenty of water, my fingers feel weird.
Its the way that your fingers feel after swimming for a while or taking a long bath.
You know when you get out of the water and they are all wrinkly and feel funny?

Well, that's how they feel.
I am wondering if this can have anything to do with my new diet or water intake or am I just going nuts?

Anybody else experience this ?

It's water retention. When you are in the bath or other water source, the fingers and toes can absorb the water and that causes the skin to swell. When that happens, it causes the wrinkles because there isn't really a place for the skin to go. With a high sodium intake you can retain water and some of it will go to the fingers and toes and cause that same swelling. I looked back over your food diaries for the last week and you are eating a lot of sodium. There was only one day when you were under the recommendation and looking at the foods, I'm thinking the sodium amount for the Taco Bell Burritos was wrong. There's no way 2 fast food burritos had only 18 mg of sodium. So, my recommendation would be to switch out some of the processed foods (Lean Cuisine and eating out) for home made meals and fresh fruits and veggies. That will cut your sodium down and should relieve some of the water retention. Also, keep drinking your water! It sounds counter productive, but when the body feels like it isn't getting enough of something, then it will store more for later. So drinking plenty of water will tell the body that it will get more so it doesn't have to store as much.

    Thanks for the advice.
Will watch my sodium a bit closer.

What is interesting to me is that I used to take in ALOT more sodium than I do now, an never had this happening before.
The biggest change in my diet has been number of calories and amount of water I am drinking.

this happened to me in the beginning. i went from drinking no water at all (just soda/juice/coffee/tea) to drinking only water. it started about 2 weeks after i rid myself of the sweetened stuff and lasted a few weeks. and then... POOF... it went away!

I'm glad to hear it will go away.
Was wondering if maybe i was taking in too much water now.

Probably not too much water now, just more available to store with the sodium that you didn't have available to store before. It will ease off as the body gets use to having more water available.
