I was wondering if you actually build muscle walking. I've been walking the treadmill at 3 mph pace on an incline of 6.0 and was wondering am I building muscle in my legs?

You can increase your mitochondria, which are little organelles in your cells that produce energy for endurance work. But you need overload and progression to actually build muscle, and unless you were recently bed-bound and unable to walk, you won't be able to supply that just by walking.0

there are two ways to figure this out and those are by measurement and photographs. Measurement will help you keep track of the size of your thighs and calves while photographs will give you something to compare to over time to see the change from fat to muscle -- if that's really happening.0
