you dont need luck you need:forgiveness when you cheat and feel bad, determination when you dont want to go exercise, willpower to say no thank you, stamina for the journey ahead, hugs for when you want to cry and throw in the towel, and love most of all. Love yourself and know that each step each good choice brings you closer to a healthier you.0

Just completed my diary for day 6. Tomorrow will complete my first week. I am under my calories so far by 7,903. I'm eating right and doing cardio everyday. Is this calorie deficit too low?0
-
Keep it going. I'm not going to wish you luck because I don't believe in it when it comes to weightloss. If you're consistent, you'll continue to succeed. If not, you won't. You can have 1 bad day or even a bad week, but if consistent success should happen. And luck isn't involved in that. It's just a matter of keep up good habit and behavior.

Sounds like you have lots of good friends here if ya come by any tasty recipes you'll have to let me know I could use some healthier meals. Good luck to you though!0

Hey Angel! One of my favorite things to eat for dinner is a baked potato with cottage cheese (low fat of course) on it! And it's only around 270 calories! Feel free to friend me and I can share some other things with you along the way to a healthier lifestyle!0

That sounds like you might not be eating enough calories. You want to be careful not to cut your calories too low, your metabolism will slow down and it'll make it easy to gain the weight back.0
-
I think my average calorie intake is around 1100 a day. I didn't think that was too low? Maybe I'll just eat a few more calories and work out harder? I definitely don't want my metabolism to slow down. Thanks for the info!0
-
My calorie intake in set to 1500 and thats at a moderate weight loss setting, i dont eat my calories back either unless im starving or feeling really crabby, i think you should be eating more for sure but im no expert, take a look at some other threads theres alot of people on here who know their stuff0
-
Mine is set at around 1800... I'm notmally satisfied with around 1100... I'm going to try and eat more and workout more I guess... I'll ask around.0
-
Good luck to you! I too am just getting started. Started on Nutrisystem a week ago. Daily caloric intake of 1200... So far, so good. I get to weigh in first time tomorrow morning.0
-
Let me know how you do!0
-
That is a pretty big deficit but as long as your eating enough of the right calories (minimum of 1,200) you should be fine. To low and your metabolism will slow down too. You can do this my friend0
-
Thanks man! I'm gonna get my 1200 in from now on. I am only around 100 calories away from that anyway... I need to work on running more. It's been tough... Also, weight training is difficult for me as I feel like I am really weak for some reason...maybe it's because I sit behind a desk all day and haven't been active in years...0
-
Strength training builds strength ! start off as light as you need to and increase it week to week0
-
For men I've heard that you should keep it above 1500 calories per day, but that depends entirely on your height/weight. I'm looking for an article that I have on that.0
-
True that @usernameenvy !
I used 25lbs Dumbbells this past week and will increase slightly this week.0 -
@amygould
If you find that article send it over please.
I feel like those are a lot of calories to be eating while trying to lose weight though.
Maybe I was just SUPER over eating before, and 1200-1500 is what I should be taking in... Along with exercise.0 -
The first week is always the hardest, and you did it! Yay! You've got this!!!!0
