Alternative healthy salad dressings?-no Lemon/Vinegar/ Olive Oil.

some of my teeth have been sensitive after a few years of drinking diluted lemon water every morning. I knew acids were bad for your teeth but i didnt think at my young age it would impact them.

So, my doc told me to stay away from acidic things like vinegars which i LOVE balsamic vinegar in my salads.

As for Olive Oil thats not bad, but i try to limited my oils to only 2 tbs a day if i use it.

So, now im looking to alternative salad dressing alternatives that are not acidity or an oil.

    This might sound weird, but sometimes for a cabage and shreded carrot salad, or for lettuce salad, I use a light sodium soy sauce. With olive oil, though. And no salt, because of the soy. It's good cuz it's different.

    For tossed salads I use a plain greek yogurt, sometimes. I do add drops of lemon, though.

    Smashed avocado? They're on the calorie dense side though... maybe mix it with greek yogurt?

    I'd say salsa... but lemon and vinegar.

    ... It's hard to dress a salad with no acids!

    If I don't want to use my usual homemade mayo and ACV, i thin tahini out with water, or use a dip (hummus based, or a roast pepper dip) and thin it out.

    Thanks you. Yeah, its hard to find a non acidic salad dressing.

    I think i may stick to a hummus type of dressing. Just a tablespoon in a salad.

    Yoghurt (plain, natural), bit of salt, pepper, garlic (as much as you like) - and either a) dash of mayo + bunch of dill - similar to a "ranch" dressing"; or b) shredded cucumber, basically making it tzatziki.

    The family also likes olive oil + soya sauce + drizzle of sesame oil + dash of Tabasco or Asian hot sauce, perhaps a little H2O if you need volume - on a cabbage salad. Need a tender not too dense green cabbage; the really dense heavy ones not so good. Let it marinade a little.

    Thin out some miso paste with water and add a teeny touch of honey. Sounds weird but tastes great, especially on mesclun.

    The ginger dressing you get on salad at Japanese restaurants might work for you. It's tasty and really low calorie. You can often find it in the grocery stores like Kroger and Harris Teeter.

    This is a tough one, because I think of salad dressing as oil + something acidic. However, I do like to make a big taco salad and I use salsa as the dressing.

    Buttermilk based ranch. Use the smaller quantity of mayo and sour cream if you are watching calories.
