L-Carnitine

I saw this on Dr Oz a couple of weeks ago; has anyone ever tried this and did you have any luck? It's suppose to help you burn fat.

I used to take it for awhile. I would take one before and after my workouts. It seemed to help with muscle recovery time.0

it is an amino acid therefor if you are getting your proteins in supplementing it further might not really be necessary,0

He said to take 500mg twice a day. A nutritionalist told me to only take it morning and noon as it will keep you up at night.
I did take it for about a week or more and did have more energy, it also helped me get past a plateau in my weight, but after that week, I crashed. It caused me to be so tired and sleepy I could not function. Less than 24 hours off of it and I felt normal again.
My suggestion is to only use it a couple of days if you need a jump start on your metabolism, but don't do it long term. Just my own personal experience.0 -
I know a lot of athletes use it as a performance enhancer.
