Ode to Logging!

edited November 2024 in Goal: Maintaining Weight

Logging is good
Logging is smart
Then again - it sucks a lot.

Is it logging I hate,
Or is it having to limit what I eat
That drives me ape?

I love not being fat anymore
I can do so much more
But it’s so very tough
To keep it all off.

Many people don’t need to log
And maybe someday I’ll be free,
In the meantime I’ll do my logging
Each and every day. (Maybe...)

:)

    It's a lifestyle change
    that you've noticed, I'm sure,
    You can never stop logging
    no matter the lure.

    Vigilant forever,
    although it's a chore
    Will keep your weight
    from becoming more. ;)

We love your ode to the mfp log..
Yes at times its a chore ...
But logging keeps folly away from my door...
And I know for one ....
    I'm glad I stuck with it ...
As nothing compares to dropping two sizes

Thanks for your ode, great idea

Lost weight before and stopped logging
Gained the weight back, deserved a flogging
    Commited to fit
    Logging every bit
    It's a lifestyle change
If you don't want to regain

Not so great, but fun anyway, and wasted a few minutes of the last hour of work! It has been a very quiet day so the hours have gone by slowly!

    Whenever I stop logging
    I gain a pound a week
    Then back to MFP
For the logging and healthy body I seek

Oh logging - my focus! my goal!
So key to my deficit soul.

    Now logging in maintenance still.
Just boring, but time it does kill.

Still logging it's been three long years.
You'd think I'd have stopped from the sneers.
    But logging has kept me
    Still slim, so accept me
I'm logging I'm not switching gears.

i go back and forth on whether to log or not
to do it for life seems like a broken thought
then today i got on the scale
and my very first thought was
    Oh hell!

To log or not to log, there is no question!

I log, and know exactly how you feel. It does suck sometimes, but a necessity for me to hold myself accountable.

It's logging that gives me focus
weight loss is not hocus pocus
It's calories in and calories out
that's what logging is really about

    It's a journey not a destination
A way out of my situation
If weight loss is to be sure
    Then logging one must endure

    Log in the morning.
    Log at night.
    Log to continue
    My weight loss fight.

    I could just skip it
    But I'd be sad,
And the pounds on the scale,
    Would make me mad.

    So I continue to log,
    Even cake and wine.
    For one day soon,
    I'll be looking real fine!

    Logging every plate
    Helps me self-regulate
    Losing all this weight
    Is definitely first rate!

    You guys are so great
    To share this with, mate
    Who'd know together
    An ode we'd create?

    Thanks again, KeepTheFaith...

    Today is day 839
I still log every day when I dine
The chicken, the fish, the tacos (delish!)
Probably log till the day that I die!

    So tempting to the spirit
    Logging gives balance

Logging and blogging sure beats jogging.
    Though a drag
    And such a bore
It keeps my weight from becoming more

Am I the only one who actually enjoys logging?

i do not find logging to be a chore,
    not a bore
    or something i abhor.
    it keeps me aware
    about that which i care.

so it does not seem right,
    to put up a fight
    kicking and screaming
    and tears come a-streaming.
    Maybe for some,
but for me there are none.

I used to think logging was awful,
That's back when I ate tons of waffles.
    Now I log every day,
    Even when I eat cake,
To do anything else is unlawful.
