totally blew off my diet this week and my workouts. I had a friend over this weekend and we did plenty of walking. But we also ate at-plenty of fast food restaurants .I find it easy to stick to my diet when I'm more isolated and I do when there's friends around enjoying the things that I used to love. But I'm a very sociable person. I think I need to surround myself with more like-minded people so feel free to add me as a friend. I think I am very supportive and could use support also .I started out weighed 412 pounds my last scale was 380.8..

I know that feeling, it is all too easy to give in to temptation when others around you are doing!
If going out for a meal, try to read the menu first and plan it into your daily calorie allowance.
If you're going to a friend's or to the cinema, don't be afraid to take your own healthy treats with you! I do, and luckily most people are very understanding, and I usually joke about being 'that person' that brings salad to a BBQ. And those who sneer at me....well, I'm not doing this for them am I?
How are your cooking skills? Friends always appreciate home cooked food, even if it is healthy stuff.
Good luck!0 -
Thank you for the great advice I am a very good cook. Sadly all my knowledge is in country style and Italian .. I have limited my self to mostly omelets with fresh veggies and chicken breast baked .. Whey protine shakes .. Good news I no longer drink sodas..0

It's hard in social situations. I second the idea to look ahead at restaurant menus. I found about 5 places that have things that I can eat without blowing the budget. Whenever people want to go out I always suggest one of those places. Then when we get there I order my go-to healthy dish and I'm good to go. Also, If everyone is ordering dessert just snag a bite of someone elses. One or two bites of something won't kill you (I normally figure 50-100 cals per bite) and you won't feel left out.
also, I try to eat before I go see people when I can. the I just ate excuse works wonders on peer pressure to go grab a burrito.
Another thing that has been good for me is to try to make new kinds of food. I get REALLY bored with my near-daily grilled chicken breast and veggies. And lawd! If I eat another egg I may actually die. But I've started trying to work new things into the rotation. Maybe fruit and cheese for breakfast or a lean roast in the crockpot for dinner. It helps keep me sane. So do snacks. Find snacks that you can work into your diet. For the moment I'm all about the pears. Last month is was light popcorn. Whatever you like. Being able to grab a snack like I could before makes me feel less like I'm on a "diet" and more like I'm just choosing healthier food options.0 -

This site is great for good food with reduced calories.
^^^ Awesome website for re-working recipes. I also learned to cook mostly farm-style and Italian. I've learned to change things up to make healthier dishes. Consider it a fun challenge to learn new recipes! Congrats on giving up the soda! I did the same and don't miss it at all!!0 -
