this link has a recipe for chicken salad. haven't tried it. so can't say if its tasty or not. What type of "dressing" do you like right now for your salad? a sour cream and mayo type? you can always use light sour cream and olive oil mayo(hellman's makes one) that will reduce calories, and also try using less. add some celery, green onion, and thin sliced carrots to it to add crunch and volume.

I make a quick "Buffalo" chicken salad with plain Greek yogurt instead of mayo, ranch seasoning, some crumbled bleu cheese and a few dashes of Frank's. Sometimes I add diced onion/celery. I could eat it every day.

ETA: HA! My reading comprehension skills suck. How about LF sour cream instead of mayo? I've used that before and it's really good, too.

We use mashed avocado in place of mayo. We do this for egg salad, too.

For my chicken salad I use equal parts: light mayo, light sourcream and non fat Fage greek yogurt for my sauce and like it a lot better than straight mayo, but I'm not big on mayo. If that still doesn't appeal to you, try using a flavorful sauce (like pesto, low fat ranch dressing, raspberry chipotle sauce, curry paste, mustard) or fresh herbs (dill, rosemary or cilantro) to increase the flavor. I make my own spinach basil pesto and add it to the creamy stuff, along with some minced celery, red onion and sundried tomatoes. YUM!

Here's the pesto chicken salad recipe that inspired me to make my own:
http://damndelicious.net/2012/10/22/chicken-pesto-sandwich/ (I cut the oil and cheese way down to lighten it up)

Here are a few others I've got on my list to try:

http://www.skinnytaste.com/2010/06/cilantro-chicken-salad.html (this would be good with a dash of oregano, tomatoes and jalepenos!)

Now, all I can think about is chicken salad. I just pulled some diced chicken breast and pesto out of the freezer. I can't wait for tomorrow's lunch!

Have you looked into the Kraft Mayo with olive oil? A serving of it is 45 calories per TBS vs. 90 in regular mayo- and the taste is pretty on par with regular. I don't use a ton of mayo, but I add it, crushed pineapple with a little juice, celery, curry powder, salt, pepper, and a bit of pecan pieces.

You need fat for good health though.... And it makes everything delicious!... And slows digestion so you feel full longer.

I'm not sure what you mean by chicken salad. I have salad... With chicken in it... But wouldn't go near it with yoghurt?

I second avocado it is amazing! I know you said you don't like yogurt. I don't like it on its own in salads but it is an awesome way to stretch the mayo out. This Curried Chicken Salad is great.
