I need good pizza options... from mainstream pizza places (Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc...) that wouldn't be too bad. Different topping combos, crusts, etc...
Thanks!
Thanks!

Lowest calorie I have found is thin crust, cheese only from Dominoes. I also add spinach and red or green peppers to it and it adds like 10 calories for the whole pizza (at highest). It is, I think, 200 cals for a quarter of a medium pizza. The thin crusts are cut into squares instead of pie slices, so you get like 2.5 squares for a quarter.0

Lowest calorie pizza anywhere is going to be a cheese pizza. Most servings is 1 slice of the pizza as well.
For example, from Papa Murphys, one serving of their combination pizza on a large size is 1/12th of the pizza or one of 12 slices. The calories is 310 per slice.0 -
Honestly, you're not going to find any "good" pizza options at these places. You need to get a veggie lovers thin crust and eat like 2 pieces. That's 360 calories. If you really want "good" pizza you will need to make one at home and find a healthy recipe...and most likely use whole wheat crust. If you want pizza from Pizza Hut or other main chains then have it on your cheat day or meal.0

Anywhere- thin crust Hawaiian, add veggies if you like.
If you have a local pizza chain that kinda does toppings beyond the norm- thin crust chicken-spinach-artichoke with lite alfredo sauce.0 -
Thin crust from Domino's with any type of veggies as the topping. Ham & philly meat are not too bad as well. Another way to save calories is to add more tomato sauce & to lessen the amount of cheese.0

If you're looking at the big chains, you can probably go to their websites and find the nutrition info. Some restaurants even have options to "build your own" and then will give you that nutrition info.0

thin crust, light cheese, grilled chicken , spinach and pineapple....yummy! Still isnt the greatest, but asking for light cheese really cuts down on fat!.0

Tomato Sauce
So here is a tomato sauce that works great for a pizza sauce, but equally well for a pasta sauce, or even as a soup base! Nutritional info is given for pizza sauce, but for a pasta it would serve 4 people. Works to freeze easily. The whole thing as 1 serving is only 100 calories.
Tomato Sauce
Serves: 16 (as a pizza sauce)
400 g tinned tomatoes (1 tin)
200 ml water
2 cloves garlic
2 g thyme
2 g oregano
1 pinch salt
1 cube vegetable stock
1 tablet of sweetener
Put everything except the stock cube into a blender.
Boil the sauce and add the stock cube. Continue to boil until the sauce is the desired thickness.

Baking Powder Pizza
This is an absolutely yummy pizza. I wasn't sure it would work, but I didn't have any yeast and I fancied a pizza. I have included some of the toppings I have on my pizza but the nutritional information is only for the pizza base. I shall post the tomato sauce tomorrow. Just add the calories for whichever cheese you use and the toppings. I usually have a whole pizza for myself as I am not on a low-calorie diet but the pizzas are quite large and half a pizza and a side salad would be perfect for one person who is trying to eat at a defecit. These are fine to freeze if you make extra. Freeze them after cooking, or refridgerate a prepared un-cooked pizza for up to 2 days. Pictures will follow next time I make these.
Pizza
Serves: 8 (4 pizzas)
330 g flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 pinch salt
75 g margarine
200 ml milk
Suggested Toppings:
Sweetcorn
Peppers
Onion
Mushroom
Olives
Sundried Tomatoes
Cheese: Cheddar, Mozzarella, Feta, Blue cheese
Spinach or Rocket
Meat if you fancy it
Courgette
Aubergine
etc.
Mix the flour, salt, baking powder and margarine together with your fingers until it forms fine crumbs.
Add the milk and combine to form a dough. Divide the dough unto 4 balls, cover and refridgerate for 10 minutes or until you need them.
Roll out the balls as flat as possible (the flatter the better) on a floured surface then transfer onto baking paper.
Add the sauce and toppings you desire and then bake in a pre-heated oven at 150 for 15 minutes, then increase to 180 and bake for a further 10. If you have a combi-oven, you can turn the grill on for the last few minutes if the pizza is not "browned" enough.

Google "Dukan Diet Pizza"
It's a pretty decent, very lowcal/low fat alternative. Doesn't taste like the real thing though0 -
Make your own pizza! I use a pita or Flatout flat bread, any variety of tomato/pizza sauce, organic mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, peppers, etc. Sometimes I will add a natural or organic meat topping as well. Usually 250 calories for the whole thing. YUM!0

There are no good pizza options. Full of fat and very little protein. Enjoy it if you want but don't consider it part of your diet.0

The best thing about pizza is that thinner is better, fewer carbs. get as many veggies as you want on it, and go for chicken instead on peperoni and sausage, you'll save calories. You basically looking at about 300 calories a slice for cheese pizza x 8 slices 2400 calories. any extra topping mean more calories so choose wisely.0

In the same amount of time it takes to order, you can make your own, and it's much more healthy and yummier!! (If that's a word )
My favourite is to take some cooked chicken breast (cubed), cherry tomatoes (halved), onions, minced garlic, some fresh basil, and a handful or two of part-skim mozzarella (shredded), mix it in a bowl with some balsamic vinegar and a touch of olive oil, spread that onto a pre-made whole wheat thin crust, and pop it in the oven until warm and melty. You can swap/add any veggies, use turkey sausage instead, etc.
Quick and easy!!0 -
I just looked at the websites of Domino's, Pizza Hut, and Papa John's to find some nutrition information. What everyone else has been saying is basically true - thin crust, veggie toppings are the best. I found this interesting, though. You might think that a plain cheese pizza has fewer calories than one with toppings, but they (at least the ones I checked, not sure about other places) put more cheese on a plain cheese pizza than they do on a pizza with toppings. Keeping this in mind, the best option I found was a thin crust pizza with any veggie toppings you want. It would be just over 200 calories for 1/4 of a small pizza (at Domino's - will vary place to place).0

We've been making our own mini pizzas with whole wheat pita bread, tomato sauce and weighing out our cheeses (mozzarella and feta or goat cheese).. they usually come in at around 350 calories per mini pizza. They're cost efficient too, and a great way to use leftovers!0

Nothing you order is going to be good for you but if you MUST, get thin crust, light cheese, nothing but veggies...it's still loaded with chemicals, fats and sugar though.
I was craving pizza last night and I made the following:
1 Ole Mexican Foods Xtreme Wellness/High Fiber Low Carb Tortilla Wrap, spread out 1/4 cup of 365 Organic Spaghetti Sauce from Whole Foods, loaded it with chopped veggies (onions, peppers, tomatoes) and then covered it with two slices of Reduced Fat Provolone Cheese Slices. Popped it in the oven at 375 until the tortilla crisped up a little bit and the cheese was super melty.
Final tally? Cravings GONE and

Last weekend I had a thin crust pizza with all the veggies and without the cheese. It may sound odd to have pizza without cheese, but it honestly doesn't taste too different at all. It was YUMMY!0

If I'm just feeding myself, I buy Lean Cuisine single serving pizzas then jazz them up a bit with some green chiles or jalopenos for extra taste. If I'm feeding a couple of people, I'd buy a thin crust pizza in the frozen section (like those great California pizzas with spinach and mushrooms) or if dining out, just stick to thin crust cheese only or veggie.0

I don't have a "cheat" day...I'm not really that far into my weight loss yet. I'm trying to be pretty good. I was thinking a mushroom thin crust though.0 -

Thanks! This helped! I'll get veggies and ask for light cheese.0 -
you can always ask them to hold the cheese, sounds odd but they will do it save you some cals and just add some veggies0
-
I mostly make my own vegan pizza at home. But if I do order one out, I get it without cheese and only veggies. Thin crust. Drink water with my meals instead of poison, er, I mean soda.0

Try this recipe, it is quit delicious, easy and has become our new pizza of choice at home rather than frozen or ordering out.

Ok, just saw this somewhere else, but it is perfect for here.
Potabella Mushroom pizza
Use a large portabella mushroom cap as the crust. turn it upside doen so the hollow art is holding the toppings. Fill with saude and veggies/protein of your choice and top with parmesean or mozeralle cheese. Bake at 375 for 12 min, broil for 2-3 min till cheese is browned. Yummy and I think it said it was around 300 cal and 10g protein.0 -
my make my own. Get a thin pita bread, toasted add what you like! pow! calories friendly "pizza" oh i love pizza...0
-
Here's what I do for pizza...and you can make it with whatever toppings you like
1 container Grands Biscuits
1 cup ground turkey sausage, cooked
pizza sauce
Mozz cheese
Preheat oven to 350, and grease with vegetable spray a muffin tin (obviously, you will only need 8). Press out each of the 8 biscuits until they are flat and lined the greased muffin tins. Add your toppings (sausage is my husband's favorite, but I have made it all veggie, bbq chicken and many other assortments!) and top with as much cheese as you would like. Bake for about 14-16 minutes. They come out like mini muffin pizzas and are about 200 calories a piece. This are great with families because everyone can make their own pizzas!0
