Hi everyone, I made the decision 6 months ago to better myself by getting weight loss surgery. After an entire lifetime of fighting with my weight, my doctor and I decided that this was what would work best for myself. I'm 9 days out and was just approved to start soft foods today. I just wanted to introduce myself and try to befriend others who have gone through WLS. I am writing in the blog part of MFP how each day has gone post op, mostly so when I feel like cheating later in life, I can remind myself what I have gone through to be a healthier person. Feel free to add me.

I'm doing well, I had my first post op visit yesterday and they approved me to start on regular soft foods. I was really excited. The first thing I had was an egg. It wasn't as fantastic as I was hoping lol. And i am exhausted, always.
How are you feeling?0 -
had surgery 1.22.15, down 40 lbs then stalled. upped my intake and started at the gym plus walking at work. Im slow because I was hospitalized for a week due to complications at 1 week post. loving it though. I was 240 surgery day just waiting to get to onederland! I am 40 yrs old and 5'2"0

Hi ladies...I am just about 4 months post op and if I didn't have a horrible sinus infection, I would be feeling great! My energy level has increased so much during the last few months...my lower back doesn't ache when I walk even a short distance like it used to, my clothes are swimming on me! Those are just a few of the perks...so far :-) I was type II diabetic before WLS and since surgery my sugar level is normal and no meds! My cholesterol is way down. I have lost 48 since surgery and 75 since my highest. My recovery was way tolerable and I had plenty of sick time accrued so I was off four weeks. The only discomfort I recall is my shoulders aching a little bit, but the was because of the gas trapped. I was up walking the same evening. I hope you all have an experience like me. If I had it to do all over again, I would have done the surgery years ago!!! Following your surgeon's recommended food plan is critical. It's really not that hard because you get full so fast! Protein first! Drink your water, and everything will fall in place.
