Alot of my weight (not all lol) is due to my polycystic ovary syndrome.
Do you suffer with it too?
Would be nice to meet people who understand

There are a few PCOS groups on here. Hopefully a member of one will post. I have PCOS but don't follow a group and have trouble searching for groups or else I'd post the link for you.

PCOS is not a sentence to a lifetime of being overweight. Your BMR (basal metabolic rate) is likely lower than average, which means that MFP's calorie goal may be a bit high for you. The best thing to do IMO is to follow the goal that MFP gives you, logging very accurately (weigh your food with a kitchen scale when possible, measure with cups/spoons when not possible, learn to estimate for times when you have no tools to measure) all food and exercise. Eat at least half of your exercise calories. If you are not losing after several weeks, tweak your calories downward after ensuring that you're logging accurately.

You may find that eating a lower carb diet helps. Not all PCOS women need this and if you choose to go that route, I would suggest eating moderately low carbs before resorting to super low. Around 100 grams/day worked for me. I've been able to up my carbs now that I am at a healthy weight.

Exercise! The majority of your weight loss will come from eating less but adding in exercise allows you to eat a bit more or use those calories to create a bigger deficit. I am a huge fan of eating as much as possible while losing weight. I eat all of my exercise calories nearly every day. But you have to figure out what works for you and what you are comfortable with.

Good luck. You can certainly lose weight with PCOS. Don't let it define you :)

Oh Yes, I have lost 28lbs already, My insulin resistance is high because of it, but i have metformin now which is also a help, but as i said i know it not all due to my Pcos, some was my depression, some was just being lazy and enjoying good food too much, I now swim 3 times a week, and have just taken up waking a mile every other day.. Just looking for people with same issues

I vote for this group also. Great ladies there, you'll find friends, info and links to more info and even doctors who understand PCOS. Lot of women there with the same issues, including IR, there.
