So hungry...

So, I've slowly fallen into an eating disorder mentality. For the past month... Maybe longer... I have been restricting my calories or at least trying to restrict my calories all the way down to 500 a day. I know how stupid and dangerous that is. Anyways, I'm trying to go back to eating 1200 a day. I ate 2500+ yesterday and planned on getting back on track today, but I'm starving. (Or at least, I think I am.) I've had 1102 calories so far to day... Only 98 left for dinner. That's plenty for a sandwich, but I swear I'm so hungry I could eat 4000 calories for dinner. I'd feel horribly guilty about splurging AGAIN though, so I don't know what to do...

Suggestions needed.

    eat! your body is TELLING you that you were in starvation mode! EAT and worry about the calories once you get your eating stuff in order. is there someone you can talk to about this?

    Just a ham sandwich. Two slices of reduced calorie bread (70 cals) and 3 slices on oscar meyer honey ham (25).

    I can't tell you how many times since I've started this plan that I've had so many days where I just want to shove my face full of food. There's days I can't get enough food, and my stomach just constantly growls. On those days, I just allow myself an additional 200-300 calories to have an additional snack or meal. But I still continue to follow the diet, and end up working out just a bit more the next day. The 500 calories idea isn't a good idea at all. You're in starvation mode, and your metabolism wont work for you.

    I personally don't feel "too" bad on Saturdays or Sundays when I splurge a little more than I normally would during the week. I just use my own self-discipline to get thru the work week and keep in mind how much weight I want to lose and stay on track!

    Not bad but I think you need to eat something sounds like your body needs it.

    What is your weight loss set to? Looks like you're about 30 pounds to your goal. If I were you, I'd set my weight loss goal to 1 pound or 1-1/2 pounds per week. What ever the recommended calories consumption is after you exercise is what you should strive to consume for the day. Your 2500 is just your body wanting nutrients from not getting enough for the past month. Stick to routine and regularity with an occassional day of more or less within a week or two.

    I used to be hungry all the time. then I started zig zagging my calories. You still have the same amount of calories a week, but somedays are much more than others.

    I use this website to calculate my calories, although I don't follow it to the letter, I just average my calories at or near it give or take 200 cals..... and I don't lose control when I have a bad day, I just make the next day a low calorie day.

    500 triggered starvation mode - your body wants more food to store - your body is panicking - weight loss should be done relatively slowly - what you packed on in years cant go out in a week :)

    I think if your that hungry you should eat a healthy meal and dont worry about going over your calories. Then tomorrow you should examine your situation....thats dangerous to eat that little and you need to get healthy first thing!

    if you are an advocate for eating your exercise calories why are you only allowing yourself 500 a day!?! I am sure you know that is not enough for your body to thrive.....I am so sorry you are having such a hard time, maybe you should seek out some help.
