Misfit + Windows Phone

I recently started using myfitnesspal... today marks day 8! I am interested in getting a misfit shine but I am unclear if I will be able to sync it with myfitnesspal on my Windows 8.1 phone.

I also considered the Fitbit and the Microsoft Band but the Misfit has several options that make it more appealing to me. While I assume I will wear it mostly on my wrist, I like the fact that you can wear it several other places, not just the wrist. It looks more comfortable then the others. I also like the fact that it does not have to charge like the others. I plan on doing some swimming and from what I read the misfit works well for that. Finally and least important, it is more fashionable then the other options I have seen.

I know there were some issues with the Misfit app on windows phone, but from what I read a very recent update to the app improved that.

The only two concerns I have are syncing the Misfit to myfitnesspal on windows and the fact that it does not monitor heart rate.

If it does not sync with the myfitnesspal app are there ways for me to manually carry the data over to the myfitnesspal app? What would be involved?

I am by far an fitness expert, so how important is the heart rate monitor. I will mostly be walking and swimming, so even if it does not tell me my heart rate does it know that I accomplished what I wanted to when I go for a walk or swim?

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

My Shine does sync with MFP automatically. If you choose swimming as your 'activity' extra in settings, then you just triple tap your Shine to let it know you're starting that particular activity. If you use the rubber sports band that comes with it, I'd seriously take extra steps to not lose it. I only wear it on my wrist, so I actually super glued it in! other people have said to loop a tiny rubber band around it to hold it in place OR just buy the metal mesh watch band at least - it won't fall out of that as easily.
