Scosche Rhythm+ HRM - Look, No Chest Strap!

Options
I just wanted to pass this along for those of you who train with a heart rate monitor, especially those of you who can't get used to using the chest strap. I was looking for a new strap to use with my Garmin watch and read about the new HRMs out there that don't require chest straps yet are still accurate. As a larger guy, I've always found the straps to be annoying at best and sometimes very uncomfortable.

Anways, I picked up a Scosche Rhythm+ and after a number of workouts, I must say I'm quite impressed. Strapping something to my forearm is a lot more comfortable than the chest strap. Even better, you don't have to worry about wetting the contacts or anything. It's worked well for me and is quite accurate.

If you want a second, much more detailed and qualified opinion, here is DC Rainmaker's review: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2014/05/scosche-antbluetooth-optical.html

I have had a Scosche Rhythm 1.5 HRM since June 2014 and love it! I only had trouble the first couple times using it because it was not placed properly. Once I found a spot that gave solid readings it has been 100% dependable. Battery lasted through my 3 hour half marathon as well.

This looks good and way cheaper than a mio alpha. Might get one in the near future if I can't for the life of me get my chest strap to connect 100% all the time. I did a treadmill run for 2 1 min and it calculated a lazy 32 cals. clearly a problem today.

Definitely. I've been using mine regularly since January and I still love it. So much more comfortable than the chest strap and very accurate.

I loved mine. The strap wore out after 6 months but they replaced it for FREE!

I upgraded to a new phone with the new Bluetooth Low Energy which did not work with my older model Scosche Rhythm. I decided to try out another brand so I could explore other options. That in NO WAY means I was unhappy with this Scosche Rhythm HRM though. It worked freaking beautifully.
