Do a google search for PCOS and low carb diet, supposed to work well. For me, it does. It brought back and regulated my period.

Hiya I have pcos and have managed to lose 15lbs in just over 5 weeks.

The biggest changes I have made is eating less carbs, more protein and good fats. I used to eat too many takeaways too.

You are welcome to add me and look at my diary. I still eat the things I enjoy, just less of them and more healthy foods in general.

My start weight was 176, current weight 161, goal weight 126.

My daily calorie intake is 1200, I try to exercise when I can and only eat back 1/2 of the calories mfp says I have burned.

    It's going well so far!

I have pcos too. It sucks!

But you can do this!! Pcos or not!

    Start weight at 17 113kg (I think)
    Weight at 26 60kg.

Pcos and weight loss aren't best of freinds but it's 110% doable! I found consistency in diet was the key to pcos, I didn't go low carb but I certainly found high carb was bad.
(and with water fluctuations I believe are hormone related only weight once a week max! I used to get seriously upset and forget about hormone related weight!)

Hey!! Yes! I have TERRIBLE pcos...my ovaries are train wreck and I have all the symptoms, including gaining 3 stone in a year last year.

I recently lost 2 and a half stone since last Xmas so in 3 or 4 months . I did it by simply reducing my cals to 1500 and walking a bit more. I did my cut any food groups or reduce my carbs at all. In general I tryed to chose complex carbs but to be honest I just ate what I wanted within my calories. It worked for me :)

About half way through I also added in a bit more walking...a 20-30 min walk in morning. And then me and my partner go for long walks at weekend.

I have recently experimented with 1200 cals but I've found it too difficult to maintain so I'm going back to 1500.

    Xmas I was 13st5. Now I'm 10st7 :)

Good luck!! Message me if you need support xxx

Hi Yes i have PCOS. I count calories, reduce carbs, and exercise frequently. I read the book the insulin resistance diet and try to follow the book's principles. I have been getting my period every month whereas before i would only get it every six months or so. To lose weight, i need to calorie count and exercise. I feel very uncomfortable cutting calories the first week and then after that, it's easy. My problem is being consistent.

Its so good to hear positive stories, I'm losing, but not as quick as I want, but slow & steady is better I guess...

Good work ladies & good luck xx

I have it. I don't really eat any special way though, just count calories and be as active as I can (I also have lupus).

I have pcos too. It's been such a struggle to loose weight!! And I gain so easily. About a month ago my dr put me on metformin. It seems to be making a big difference. I've had more energy and feel better. The weight has been coming off so far vi have also gone lower carb and been trying to walk every day.

Losing weight with PCOS is hard, but I did it before and it can be done again!

For me working out 5 to 6 days a week really helped
