Is everyone really losing weight on 1200 calories PLUS their exercise calories?
That seems like too many calories to support weight loss
Is no one on here under-eating and steadily losing weight?
This really is perplexing to me!

Im on 1210 cals,
usually eat most or at least half of my exercise calories. I've lost 20 pounds since January with only one 2 week plateau ( that I broke by eating more)0 -
Remember that the alloted calories already give you a calorie deficit, so eating all your calories will still allow you to lose weight. I don't re-eat all my calories, but most of them. Otherwise your body goes into starvation mode and you stop burning.0

i'm on 1200 and i eat back some of my exercise calories and it's working for me.0

And what does that mean on my Home page summary
Goal.........Food......Exercise.......Net
1200........1039....... -286 ............753....
My calories remaining are 443
I'm not seeing how those add up. ??
Thanks everyone!0 -
I'm on 1540 and most of the time I do not eat them all and doing fine. My exercise usually gives me an extra 300-400. If you eat less than 1200 cals your body will go into starvation mode and it will try to hold on to everything and you can actually stop losing and gain weight.0

My allotment is 1550 calories per day. I've lost 19 pounds so far, and I'm only under calories about 1/2 the time (with or without exercise calories). Occasionally I'm 100 or 200 calories under; sometimes I'm about that much over; sometimes I'm right at my goal. But I keep losing!
If you're still suspicious, give yourself a trial month. If you're not happy with the results, you can always adjust.0 -
I never eat more than 1000 net cals a day, but I am way shorter than the average person at 4feet 11.5 inches tall. I lose at or below 1 lb per week, but I get too hungry to push it down any further0

I'm aiming at 1330, and I eat back most of my exercise calories, and ...well... you can see my ticker!
When I began, I was "obese", and now, I'm "healthy".
OH YEAH! It works baby!0 -

So, your "net" is the total calories you've taken in (food) MINUS what you've burned with exercise (1039-286=753)
Your calories remaining comes from your "goal" plus that calories you've earned from exercise minus the calories from what you've eaten (1200+286=1486; 1486-1039=447)0 -
My calorie allotment is 1520, just changed my goals last month and it was 1810. For the first 6-9 months I always ate all my exercise calories but now I exercise, ALOT, and burn 1200-1800 calories a day so NO I don't eat ALL those back but ALWAYS eat my allotted! NOW, look at my ticker and my weight loss, I do believe it says 110 pounds lost. So YES it works, JUST AS IT IS EXPLAINED.0

1200-1500 cals for me I dont really think of exercise calories..I just log the exercise and stay within my range for the most part0

I agree it seems like too much if you eat back ALL the exercise calories. I just started, but I've been eating about half of my exercise back (mine is also 1200). We'll see how it goes. I'd say just try it the way it suggests for 2 weeks and then adjust accordingly when you see whats happening for your body. Today I ran 3.5 mi, so I felt like I needed more than 1200 kcal.0

thank you, that is a great explanation0
