Got pretty injured yesterday.
Just found out it's worse than I thought.
Fractured ankle;
pulled a tendon in my foot;
bruised tailbone,
basically the entire right side of my lower body is injured.
I have no access to a pool,
and I don't want to have NO cardio until I'm healed.
What would you do?

do upper body0

Ouch! I'm sorry! I would suggest doing weight lifting in a seated position while you heal. Also, if you go to a gym, most gyms have a hand pedal bike you can use for cardio until you can be weight bearing again.0

I honestly have to say that it would be good to take it easy.... maybe do wii boxing...you could do that sitting down!0
-
arms...you can still raise that heart rate by sittling...you can do it!0
-
I just don't want to focus solely on arms until I heal,
especially since I had a ridiculous upper body workout yesterday
and my muscles are still screaming.
Stationary bike?0 -
I broke my left leg and sprained my right one in October. I did sit ups and shadow boxing. The shadow boxing gets your HR up. Take care, you will be back in no time.0

I would try to avoid using the bottom half of your body a few days atleast give that area a chance to repair itself. I know it's a little bit of a setback but you don't want to damage anything beyond repair.0

I'm not sure what I would do. So this is a good question. I shall check back intermittenty to see some responses.
Oh, I also have a pool you can use. I don't even use it really. Although there is a goose who occasionally visits it. He won't bother you though. Just try and be out by 4pm and he shouldn't mind. That's the time we throw stale bread in the water for his supper. I'm not sure where you're from, I'm in Canada, so I may be a little far.
Get well soon.

lmao! No wonder people think that Canadians are strange. You're going around giving us a bad rep.0 -
I definitely think that boxing would be the way to go. It keeps your arms nice and toned and it gets your heart pumping.
Sorry to hear about your injury. Hope it heals quick : )0 -
Hahahaha.
I love canadians.0 -

I'm honestly wondering if I should take ANOTHER rest day?0

Yes. Please do. Give your body a chance to heal. Trying to force it into working out right now will only backfire on you in the end.
I had bursitis in my right hip in the fall. I chose to ignore it and kept right on pushing myself (tough people push through the pain, right?). Well, I ended up with a stress fracture in that hip.
DON'T RISK IT.0 -
All I really wanted was permission to go home and sleep.
thanks!
I'm so ridiculous.0 -

Sure, say you're not a weirdo after that little anecdote. I bet I'll find you on another thread discussing the proper heating for your igloo, or your opinion of the practice of sending our elderly out on ice flows.0 -

Go home and sleep. (or go to Canada and swim..your choice, really... )0 -

LMAO! No sweetie, you give us a good rep for being funny and so damn nice we'd offer our pool to a stranger as long as she didn't mind sharing it with our duck!!! Love it!0 -

Honey - you need to rest for a bit. I'm assuming you are on pain meds given what happend. You may need a week or so off. Then, you'll likely be forced to do upper body stuff untl you heal. Fractured ankle - 6-8 weeks right?0 -
oh that's gotta be sore.
Hmm, I would probably google wheelchair exercises or something like that. see what could be done seated?0
