smoothie question

Options
Hi all,

Hope you are enjoying the weekend and apologies if this has been asked before but..

Just wondering when making a smoothie can I input the ingredients whole and then use that as the total amount of calories in the smoothie, as in will the calories remain the same even though I'm drinking the fruit rather than chewing them?

Sorry if it's a silly question but I remember reading somewhere to be careful regarding calories when squeezing an orange and drinking the juice rather than eating it!
Thanks!

weigh the ingredients separately and log, then make your smoothie.

The calories (and nutrients) of a SMOOTHIE are the same as the individual ingredients. The calories (and nutrients) of JUICING are not. With juicing you're throwing away a percentage of the edible part, usually the part with fiber etc. and ingesting more sugars (because you're adding the juice of more fruits).
    Does this make sense?

so your log would look something like this:

    strawberries, raw - 28 grams
    bananas, raw - 30 grams
    milk, 1% - 1 cup
    honey, raw - 1 tbsp

    etc
