Can I do the 30 Day Shred .. twice or three times a day ?!

I just reach L1 D4 from the 30 day shred Jillian's DVD.

I did day 1 , 2 each in a day.
But yesterday I did two workouts : Day 3 and Day 4.
I take a rest for two hours and a good healthy snack in between.

I really want to finish it as soon as I can because I will not keep in touch after a week ( will host visitors at my appartment ).
When I did it yesterday it was ok I'm not that much exhausted like the first day when I did it once.

Is it physically OK to do it twice ? And even three times a day?

I don't want to build muscles but I want to be toned.

If your new to exercise, then no. YOur body has to have time to heal. Especailly when doing DVDs like that. If anything do a dvd wait 5 or more hours then o for a jog. I am a fitness professional and I workout once a day, sometimes twice but its like weights then a jog. BUT I AM A PRO.

I wouldn't just because you'll over do it and hurt your self.

I don't think there's any actual harm involved, they are short workouts...but you might not see as good results as you would if you spread it over the 30 days - perhaps because your body doesn't get chance to rest in between.

I sometimes do level 1 & 2 after each other - with only one warm up and one cool down. I only do it if want the extra calories or not able to exercise much the other days.

I'm quite fit and been exercising for over a year (3/4 times per week). I didnt notice any problems etc. I would just see how you feel.x

A lot of people think they need more rest than they do, humans are made to be active, modern life makes us more sedentary particularly in the western world. i am not familiar with the program you are doing, but what i can tell you is that if your body has suitably adapted so that doing those two workouts you did, did not even cause you to be as exhausted as the one work out you did at the beginning then of course it is ok for you to do two everyday, especially with you doing them apart and with food in-between - by having the snack and rest in-between, you are sensibly preventing your body from using all its glycogen stores.

when i started doing cardio a few years ago, it took me 10 minutes to run one mile and i was beat, since then i have maxed out at running 15 miles, and frequently do 10k 's. sometimes i do a 10k run in the morning, and do weight training in the afternoon.

rest is necessary but for sure you can train twice in a day if you find you are physically able. what are you worried about?

    all the best.

I think you can do whatever your body is capable of doing - however, it's easy to get super involved with the whole fitness thing when you're dieting, but what you have to consider is - in real day to day life is it realistic enough to continue once the fad wears off - will it realistically fit into your life, if it doesn't chances are you'll never last - you'll do it for a few months then boom, you'll never do it again .. if you start off realistically with exercise chances are you'll carry it on for a lot longer :-))

If you feel good about it, you can do it. If it hurts or makes you exceptionally tired, don't. Just don't think that the results are going to get any faster. It's meant to do half an hour each day. If you do it twice half an hour each day, but STILL for 30 days, of course you'll get good results.. But doing it twice a day only for 15 days for example won't help.

It doesn't work like that.. otherwise you could do it (theoretically) 30 times in one day and suddenly have a body like hers.. i don't think so.

I sometimes do one in the morning and one in the evening, or just two after each other, it's really not that big of a deal. 12min of cardio, 18min of strength put together, your body can handle that no problem at all. Doing 2 shreds is absolutely not a problem.

    If only eh.

back to OP. Listen to your body, aches are ok within reason pain is not and while doing an hour of workouts a day isnt too much for many people I think 1, 1/2 hour workout and a jog would be more beneficial, different muscles being used burns better than 2 workouts using pretty much the same muscles.

Actually the excercises I mostly do are jogging .. walking .. and as a mom I'm doing all home works and I'm most of the time on my foot. I didn't go for swimming for months and I stop doing elliptical trainer since about two years. You can say my muscles are very weak !

    I weigh now 128 lb and I'm 5'1".
    My goal weight is 110.

The fat on my body are most in my belly!

    That's my question

what does the difference of taking a rest for a full day .. if u feel u can deal with it again after some hours !
I still have some sore by this workout specially after the first day. But the sore is fading day by day.

I'm not that much fit even if I want to lose about 8 kg only.
I sore a lot after the first day.
pushing my self to do day 2 at the other day.
Then I decided to do day 3 + 4 on the next day ( the third day ).
I felt ok. Yes I was sore but it was continuos from the ferst day and it's fading daily.

I think the main difference between doing an exercise a day or repeating it later in the same day, even with snacks and water, is sleep, which is hugely restorative!

I did the 30DS and I also did other cardio afterwards, I built up to it, because for the 1st 5days my quads were burning like mad!

Now I have been doing some of her other workouts that are 40 and 55 min long and have worked up to fitting some wii zumba in as well. I 'listened' to my body though and I think that's the advice you're getting on here, which you seem to be doing. My comment regarding rest & the results you see were just for you to consider- you mite not get the same results from it as if you would have done it over the 30 days and in your initial post you didn't make any ref. To your current fitness level, how much weight you were wanting to lose.

    all the best.

This kind if workout is a cycle of jumping jacks + abs crunches + push ups + squats + jump robe ....
so it/s a compensation of many styles and it is for all the muscles. (( all in about 22 minutes / a day ))
it's very fast witch make your heart beat fast and you sweat a lot.

Of course I have a good rest ,, I plan to have a nap in between plus the snack .

I'm worry because I don't want to make any injuries or harm my muscles. Plus I'm afraid to ruin all the workout plan ( 22m/ day ) for 30 days . I afraid it's only works if I do it in 30 days.

This workout program is to be done in 30 days . And I have some circumstances which I can't do it continuously in the next 30 days . So I thought to shrink the time by doing it twice a day or even 3 times . Then do the jogging/ walking + come other cardio like push ups and jumping jacks .. and crunches. Later after I can deal with it again I'll keep my self active in burning calories daily.

I'll still do it daily as much as I can but for now I want to finish all the levels of this workouts.

Of course I or any others can't do the 30s in one day ! OMG ! We'll kill our selves !

This workout is specially made for all the muscles .. not only one part. And I'm jogging daily . I just stopped for some days by the sore I felt of shredding.

I need to lose 8 kgs. Most of my fats are on my belly after my two kids. I'm now 58 and want to reach 50 .

Its only 20 minutes and not that hard core...I'd say it you do one in the morning and one at night that wouldn't be a big deal...

I don't think doing the videos a few times a day is bad at all. With me, I sometimes get up, do lvl. 2 in the morning and maybe a few hours later do JM's banish fat boost metabolism (if I'm really bored) and if I'm not exhausted in the evening, then I like going back to 30 day shred and doing lvl. 3. I think i'm very fit for being 15...a lot of exercise doesnt bother me, plus it keeps me from being so bored/lazy in the summer! So you should go for it and do your best :)
