Egg Cholesterol

Hey everyone,
I eat approximately five eggs every morning and I recently noticed that my cholesterol goal has been exceeded every day as a result.
Is this a bad thing?
Will this cause any health problems?
I know that eating eggs without the yolk drastically cuts the cholesterol, but I really enjoy the yolk.
Thanks for any responses!

Eat the eggs, esp the yolks. Enjoy.0

Having high bad cholesterol can't be good. I would say moderation is the key word. But yeah, I know what you mean about the yolk...yum haha0

I remember reading something a while ago, that the cholesterol in eggs can be metabolised into adrenaline (or something like that). The point being, especially if you are doing exercise (especially weight training) then that cholesterol will NOT accumulate in your body, and won't cause any problems. It will probably help you increase your strength. So you shouldn't have any problems0

I would have the doctor do a blood test to check your cholesterol, if its high cut back if its at a good level keep enjoying your eggs0

The link between eggs and high cholesterol was debunked some time back. I believe (it's been a while) that the findings were that eating cholesterol doesn't raise your cholesterol.0

If you ask people on MFP or random bodybuilders at the gym, they will tell you to eat as many eggs as you like. If you ask a dr, or read medical researche sites (yes, including the new research), the recommendation is now up to 1 egg per day. There have been a huge fuss the last years when it was proved that the recommendation of one egg or two per week was unnecessarily low, but what apparently lots of people failed to do was read past the headlines and see that there still was a limit. Check here:

This research doesn’t give the green light to daily three-egg omelets. While a 2008 report from the ongoing Physicians’ Health Study supports the idea that eating an egg a day is generally safe for the heart, it also suggests that going much beyond that could increase the risk for heart failure later in life.
And before anyone tells me how this is wrong because they have been eating 100 eggs per day and are fine, the key phrase is "increase the risk for heartfailure later in life". (1) it is a risk. It might never happen. The question is if the risk is worth it or not. (2) it will not happen immediately, you might be fine for 10 years on a high cholesterol diet, see the effects 10 years later.

There is a line of thought that the cholesterol impact from eggs is not as significant as once thought because generally people who eat eggs are also consuming other foods with relatively high cholesterol. 5 eggs daily is not particularly healthy, it's a large amount of protein too but obviously depending on the rest of your diet and activity level that may not be an issue.
Increasing your dietary fibre and vegetable intake will help to counteract the level of cholesterol but the best thing to do would be to cut down somewhat.0 -
I don't think I would eat five eggs. I would eat two, *unless* you do heavy physical labor for a living. That said, I think the best thing to do is to have your doctor check your cholesterol levels so that you know for sure where you stand. The total number, the HDL and LDL numbers, the triglycerides, and now they check the particle size on those lipids as well. Get the doc to go over all your numbers with you and explain them. Then you'll know whether your current diet is messing up your cholesterol levels or not, and can adjust accordingly.0

EAT ALL THE EGGS. Unless you already have a cholesterol problem don't worry about it. Maybe get an annual check just to keep an eye on it.0

I think having 2 eggs then using egg whites to round it out might be a good route.0
