Slim fast/ the biggest loser shakes

I now have only 3 months to lose 20lb.
I really wanted to do this right, get enough calories, do exericse and just lose it naturally, I lost the first 10lb within 6 weeks, but over the past week I have gained BACK 2lb, how, I do not know, but I am now considering slim fast, it is very restricted, and I'm motivated to do it, and I know it's not as balanced as a normal diet, but I would make sure my main meal was full of veggies and my snacks would not be their sugar fueled bars, but fresh fruit.

I just feel like in my time limit this would be the safer option as it would be quicker.

When I get to my goal weight i obviously wouldn't just come off the shakes straight away, I would cut down to one a day, a slower turn back to my normal, wholefoods diet.

I just feel like i'm getting no where here, i had all these plans for summer and it looks like im really not going to reach my goal unless i do something like this.

I tried slim fast before when I was 18, and it worked really well, but I wasn't in the right frame of mind then, I was still drinking loads with my friends and eating pizzas for my main meals and just being a teenager, my whole mind set has changed now, I would never touch mcdonalds or pizza hut anymore.

I've seen the biggest loser shakes and soups too, but the shakes are so expensive, 10 for £13.00 where as slim fast is 12 for £3.00 currently on sale in my local super market down from £6.00

Urgh if only things were simple, or I just got my butt in gear in January instead of leaving it till April.

As long as u eat healthy and under ur calories for the day, you'll lose. I have been drinking/eating the shakes and snack bars (or any other 100 cal pk snacks) n have boosted my weight loss. I only have one shake a day (if that) but my snacks are always 100 calorie or less. I think it works, but everyones different. Good Luck! :)

Hi Friend, The only thing with Slimfast is there is a lot of sugar in each serving. However since you don't have that much weight to lose it may work fine for you. I read the other day, and to my surprise, that there has been a study done and the #! most successful diet is Jenny Craig. The secong being Slim Fast. I have too much weight to lose so Slimfast wouldn't be an option for me. My husband went to the store this morning and bought The Biggest Loser shake for me. I'm going to mix it with low fat soy milk and am hoping it will do the trick as a nutritional meal replacement. I wish you the best of luck along your journey. Please make sure you drink plenty of water. Have a wonderful day!

I have slimfast, but not as they tell you too. I have a proper breakfast of wholemeal toast and scrammbled eggs, a shake for lunch and a healthy dinner. I snack on fruit and ryvita. I do it this way as there is a lot of sugar in slimfast and if i was having two shakes a day i would go insane! I also find i'm really busy at work so would tend to grab a sandwich from the shop for lunch which is not very good. so they allow me to eat quick whilst im working. they work for me and i enjoy them. a friend has been having the biggest looser shakes and she said they dont taste that great

    hope this helps

Hi, I'm also in the UK and started Slimfast 3 weeks ago. I have lost 7lbs so far but lost that in the first week and a half and nothing since. I am going to weigh tomorrow so hopefully will have lost more. I am having a shake for breakfast, a meal bar for lunch and fruit and a yoghurt for snacks. I have been having salad with my evening meal and sticking to 1400 cals per day altogether. I run at least 3 times a week and did 23 miles total last week and am heading for 20 this week so am quite surprised the scales aren't moving. I haven't been eating my running calories but have been having wine and a higher calorie dinner on a saturday but still my weekly calorie intake is on target or slightly lower than the plan. I did post asking if this was ok but didn't have any responses!

I started at 190lbs and want to get down to 138lb and I'm 5ft 7 inches. You must be slim already as you are taller than me and your current weight is only 9stone 13lbs which must be a perfect weight for you?

As for Slim Fast, I am doing it because I am rubbish at controlling my portion sizes but have quite good self control if I know exactly what I can eat for each meal. The only thing that worries me is since I've been using this site I realise that the nutrients aren't too healthy in the Slimfast.

I've done Slim Fast, and Tesco's own version too. I did lose weight, but very slowly, not much different to doing calorie controlling, so I gave up. If I could have something a little bit more than a shake for breakfast and lunch and still lose the same amount, it was too much for me!
I find the special k diet (or any other non choc/sugar filled cereal!!) works better for me personally. I lost 2 and a half stone in just over 3 months on special k last year, and have just switched my diet back to it a few days ago after I had enough again of using the Tesco shakes and not seeing much more dofference

My BMI is just over 21, which yes, is my 'perfect' weight, but I am not happy, I was a lot thinner than this a year ago, I put on two stone when I got my first car, which I've now sold. I just want to be the old Maille, I used to be 8stone7, I have a small frame so it looked fine on me, this whole thing is really upsetting me, I really thought I could do it in time, i gave myself 4 months, it was only 28lb to lose, i've already lost 9lb, but it just seems to unachievable now, I've only got 3 months, I really just wanted to be happy in time for university.
