What am I doing wrong!?

I am no stranger to exercise but let myself go after my wedding as the stress was unbelievable and I also had lots of assignments due for college.

But 21 days ago, I got my motivation back and started losing approx 1.5-2 lbs a week. Bit then I started really trying to train harder this week. The result... Putting weight on, almost all I have lost! I know about muscle weighing more than fat but really?!!! Will I never see 10 stone again????

I'm really upset(not enough to quit), but it's the psychological aspect of it all.

Anyone go through this? Have been told to get away from the scales and just do measurements ..... I'm in 1200 calories a day and eat more when training... Although I may have 300 calories left at the end... But believe me, I don't starve! I love food. Especially healthy food!

I'm feeling quite down as I was 2lbs away from losing half a stone....

Thanks for reading.

Your doing right - I guess you just need to be patient and it will start to happen. Keep up with the exercise and keep up with the eating healthy and it will all fall into place (she says....)

If you're changing up your workout, your muscles/tissues might be retaining more water than normal to help prevent injury -- this happens to me anytime I start weight training again after a break.

You've been losing consistently, I honestly wouldn't worry about it unless you go a few weeks and keep gaining. It could be any number of things: period, high sodium intake, etc.

You're doing great, just keep at it. Do you feel good after you work out? Try to focus on that instead of the numbers. Numbers are important in terms of keeping ourselves on track, but they are NOT the ultimate goal.

    Good luck!!

If I knew what I was doing I wouldn't be on this site but I know that you need to mix up your excercises to confuse your body. Also I wouldn't worry about one week. If you started pushing your body harder it would react differently. Maybe you will see a difference next week! No matter what I do know that getting down about it won't help. You are doing everything right. You will get results if you just keep at it!!
