Hello, been struggling for awhile now. Its hard for me to lose weight. My husband is on this journey too. We fell off last year after the morther n law moved in and after our Vegas trip. I need to lose alot but I dont have the confidence I should. I look at peoples before and after pictures and dream that that would be me.

Hello. I'm right there with you. I have tried everything. Sure I'd drop a few pounds but then I'd pick it right back up again. I wish my husband would start this journey with me but he is not ready yet and I am not going to push him. It's sure going to be difficult though because my husband is a snacker, usually after the kids go to bed, and that temptation can sometimes be overwhelming!
I am new to MFP and yesterday was my first full day of tracking what I eat and watching the numbers climb. That alone helped me stay on track. I am on a strict calorie limit and I found that tracking it, and having the numbers right in front of me, made it much easier to stay on track. Maybe it's just the newness of it all for me but I am determined to take it one day at a time and not stress over it. All I can do is my best. Not just for me but for my family as well because I am worth it, I deserve it, and so do you!
Everyone has slip ups but it's your reaction to the slip up that matters. Are you going to continue on the "slip up" path and start binging with the "bad" stuff? Or are you going to get back up, brush it off, shake your head and say I oops'd, and it's okay but I have to get back on track right now. Be willing to accept slip ups but don't let them get you off course. Stay focused. Stay strong. Stay determined.
Please feel free to add me for support. Good luck to you, and your husband, on your journey!0 -
Theres plenty you can do to increase your chance of succcess.
1. Learn about how weight loss works.http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1
2. Understand why you are doing it and commit to making changes as well as accepting some of the hard work it will take.
3. Start with small targets to phase any plan in so you can see success, build your confidence and increase momentum.
4. Get some kitchen scales to weigh and log your food.
5. Manage your expectations, continue learning and be patient, its a long journey that rewards consistency.
Anyone can do it including you.0 -

Sorry I'm just now seeing this. I'm still trying to figure mfp out and notifications. Thank you for your reply. Trying to figure out this calorie thing. Doing more research. My husband is on board but he's a drinker. Not like that he into diet Pepsi which is not good. He been eating right with me because I am the only one who cooks so he has no choice. He just started back at the gym a few weeks ago which is good with him doing that I am even more focused.0 -
