Hey I am looking into kettle bell training for a workout. How long until you saw some results? Did you like it ? What weight should I start with I don't life anymore I use to but haven't since I had my baby. He's heavy though 30lbs lol should I start with 10 or 15 lbs ? I want to use it as my strength and cardio workout in one.

I've been doing kettle bells for a few weeks now and have found it to be one of the best workouts I've ever done. I set up next to a treadmill and run for 36 seconds (whatever pace is comfortable) and then jump off and do as many reps of whichever lift/swing is on my list and then jump back on the tread mill for another 36 seconds...I do this over and over for 12 minutes four times (48 minutes). I'm doing this with 33 pound kettle bells. I work out with a girl from my office and she's using 20 pound kettle bells.

Thanks that's encourages me to get started even more !! Maybe I will lean towards the heavier kettle bell then. Good tip for the workout plan with the tread mill thanks

As for the kettlebells I would get a lighter one around 6 pounds and another one around 10 - 15 pounds. You will find if you want to exercis your triceps for example you need to work into the 15 pound and will be too heavy.. But there are exercises when one or the other is too light or too heavy just a thought..

Try lifting a jug of milk or a bag of flour and throwing that around and see how you adjust the weight of these. Even exercise with them and see how you do. You can get an empty jug of mik and fill it with sand and try it..

I lift weights now and in the beginning I was using light dumbbells and small 6 pound and 10 pound medicine balls.. I still use the 6 and 10 pound ball..

    Just a thought..

Great advice thanks !! I will test myself first. Good to know you still use the lighter ones now too. At least they wouldn't be a waste of money
