To lose weight you just need to eat at a deficit.

weight loss occurs in the kitchen

fitness occurs in the gym (or... where ever)

so no, you dont need to exercise to lose weight.

If 2500 is below your maintenance, then you will lose (how much/ fast will depend on other factors that other folks are quicker than me to figure out ;) ) LOL Go my MFP's calculator and set your activity to lightly active (at least, thats what i would do)

Cardio is good for the heart and lifting keeps you from losing too much muscle while in a caloric deficit. But if you get enough lifting into your routine due to your job, you should be good with just eating at the recommended deficit, IMO.

As others have stated, fat loss is about how much and what you eat.

But, I will ask two questions:
    1) What are your other health and fitness goals (strength, endurance, cardiovascular, mobility, speed, agility, etc.)?
    2) It seems your work may have some repetitive activities, have you experienced any imbalances that cause you pain (e.g., lower back, neck, etc.)?

Heavy grunt work can break and weaken my body if performed with bad form and grunting (without rest--breathing). But, when I practice techniques used in weightlifting, I see and feel more strength. I do a lot of construction for "fun(???)" and try to be aware of my core. So that is good that you already think of your work as your workout--just be aware of your core and remember to breathe.
