I'm not really sure if I should trust the calories myfitnesspal gives me for my exercise. I was eating about half of the calories earned just to be safe and I wasnt loosing. So yester day and today I stopped eating the extra calories and so far I've lost 1.8 in 2 days. I keep hearing things about I should eat them but I dont loose when I do.

I exercise about 1.5 hours a day cardio and strength training. Should I buy one of those hr monitors? I'm not sure which one to buy. I've heard the best are the ones that go around the chest but I've never seen one. Where would I get one and how much do they run?

Anyway not sure how long this weight loss will continue before I go into what everyone says is starvation. I also wonder if I'm just losing muscle. So confused. Can anyone shed any light on this...

Maybe eat more protein! With that much exercise, your body would need it!

EBAY! Heart rate monitors there; OMRON is a good one; easy to use.

I think everybody's body is different. I have tried many things. I was eating back calories and lost nothing, I zig zagged and gained a little...so I had to switch it up again. Everyone is different and I think sometimes it is just trial and error. But many people say you have to eat them back. I say listen to your body and see what happens. Most likely you will gradually start eating more once you have hit a certain weight though.

I think you should definitely get a heart rate monitor. This one is $33 on amazon, which is cheap as usually the ones with a strap are at least $50. I have purchased this one for myself, but haven't received it yet.

There is a strap for the heart rate monitors (HRM's) that transmitts the HR to the watch type monitor. You need this for accuracy - I have tried one without and it just is not worth it. The Polars are good and not too too expensive. I got mine at Amazon. They are worth it. You should eat some of your exercise calories - I don't eat all of them. 1.8 in two days is a bit too fast - if you want to keep it off, and I am assuming you do! 1-2 lbs a week is a safe and healthy way to lose.

The worry is if you go under 1200 and it doesn't look like you are. I would ask about water as I don't see any listed. Youhave to stary hydrated!

Good Luck and you will find what works best for you!

I bought a Polar F7 heart rate monitor (with chest strap) at REI for $80 and I LOVE it!! I was in the same position, exercising a ton and just flat unable to eat as much as MFP was telling me I needed to to make up for the exercise. With the heart rate monitor I found MFP was way overestimating some of my exercise.

You are supposed to eat your exercise cals but its totally legit that MFP can't be completely accurate for cals burned. If you feel like their estimates are off and you don't want to buy a HRM I would suggest adjusting what you log (maybe only log 75% of your exercise? Or 50%?) for exercise or only eating back part of what you log. You should probably eat back some exercise cals though, since you're presumably burning SOMETHING when you exercise. When you're working out that much you definitely need to be eating or your muscles are going to be slow to rebound after a workout and you will have a real hard time building and maintaining mucle.

Best of luck! Think about the HRM, I've found it super helpful.
