No, but I've been trying to convince my fiance to try it for over 2 years now. We really don't eat grains, dairy, or beans much (I love my cheese, he can take it or leave it!), but I have the hardest time cutting out onions, garlic, mushroom, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. It's really the vegetables that make it most difficult.

I'm just starting it at the suggestion of my GI specialist. I've been in pain for 15 years, so I'm pretty open to anything new at this point. I got the Simple Fodmap app for my Galaxy, and I've been doing my share of research.

Since I've eaten many of these things my whole life, I'm also finding new ways to reduce stress. I can pinpoint exactly when my first episodes started happening, and the pattern it stayed in for years. I also noticed that many of these high fodmap foods are ones that I didn't like eating when I was a child, which were also the foods I was shamed into eating. Truthfully, my parents steamed broccoli until it was almost grey, but it was always more of a fight than eating the soggy zucchini. Makes me wonder if my body knew more than my mother.

When I started cooking for myself, I started liking food more. The very few foods I won't eat nowadays are high fodmap foods that I've never liked. My portion sizes also got out of control along with the GI pain, so I've made drastic reductions.

I'm doing my first official low Fodmap shopping trip today. I've been eating dabs of this and that over the past week because I can't afford to purge my entire pantry. Good luck, and add me if you please!

I did FODMAP for 2 months, at the request of my GI doc, and found it nearly impossible to actually accurately follow, and not effective for my IBS symptoms.

I have Celiac Disease and so I've been gluten free for 10+ years now. But I had a couple pesky symptoms pop up last summer, and somewhere in the midst of the attempt-at-a-diagnosis merry-go-round, we stopped on "FODMAP for IBS".

Even though they taught me the diet and gave me shopping lists and meal ideas and everything, when I first went to sort my pantry and fridge, I "lost" at least 3/4 of my food to the FODMAP list. Shopping GF takes a long time anyways, but shopping FODMAP was a nightmare.

I did it 100% for 2 months, keeping a food and symptom log, and there was no change or improvement in symptoms, so my GI doc said I could stop.

I know it's supposed to be a good thing for IBS and other ideopathic GI pain. Remember that just because it didn't help me doesn't mean it might not help you. As always, YMMV.

I'm starting today. Tried so much, IBS was ok for months but now it's sooooo bad again. Bloating, constipation, pain, cramps etc. Exhausted at the end of each day, no appetite... I identified a few high-FODMAP foods already which I knew are a trigger, so that makes me positive that this might finally solve it. Especially Sorbitol and Fructose I expect to be culprits. Please add me as a friend if you're doing FODMAP as well :)
