Carbs Overload

I have a hard time giving up carbs altogether! From pastas to potatoes to even rice. I know it's all about portions & limiting how much you eat. I just can't seem to give them up & eat way more than I'm supposed to.
What are some other options I can substitute in place of carbs?
I still want to enjoy my carbs as well from time to time.

Your post is on the vague side, but I will throw in that after the first one-three weeks of lower carbs the craving does go away.
You also learn your trigger foods. for me, two forks full of rice turns into 3-4 cups. and a bowl of my grandmas chicken noodle soup? Soup fine. soup+noodles? The whole pot is in danger.0 -
Double your veggies, use a nice 6 oz of meat. This is what I do. Carbs are fine in my book but I prefer high volume.0

Shiritake noodles are non-carb and very very low calorie.
They have a different texture & taste, but for something that's going to be covered by sauce (like in pasta) they're OK.
Oh, and rinse them well to get rid of the smell/taste before cooking.
I love rice & pasta too, but understanding how many calories they pack has convinced me to moderate my intake.
No exaggeration, I probably used to have close to 8 oz (dry) pasta in 1 meal... with lots of veggies, sauce, a little
meat, and more cheese than I really should have.
Way too many calories.
I like getting (closer) to a healthy weight more than I like gorging on carbs.
I still have them, just in reasonable portions.0 -
Why don't you plan/precook a few easy breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Make a big pot of chili without beans, a stew without potatoes/carrots, some burgers, some soup, meatballs (no breadcrumbs), a frittata or mini crust less quiche and freeze them all into portions. It's not that hard if you have meals pre-cooked and/or pre-logged.0

Why are you trying to give up carbs?0

Instead of focusing on what you are giving up, prepare or eat raw fabulous green leafy veggies (kale, romaine, swiss chard, spinach, collards, watercress, bok choy). Also asparagus, green beans, show peas, broccoli, cauliflower, swiss chard, zucchini, yellow squash, mushrooms, onions, garlic, okra, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, avocados, fennel, red or yellow bell peppers, butter nut squash, spaghetti squash.
You could put these in soups with some chicken thighs, or roast them in the oven with a little bit of walnut oil or butter and salt. Veggies also come out nicely when they are grilled in something like a George Forman Grill.0 -

I bought mine 2 years ago and use it at least 3 times a week. I bought 3 more as gifts for other people who kept borrowing mine after eating dishes at my house. Yes!! Get it asap.0 -
I love my carbs. Complex carbs is the way to go.0

Take cauliflower and chop it up in the food processor. Use as a substitute for rice.0
