Finally.
I ususally like to blog every at every 10 lb milestone - I look forward to it, so it acts as a positive reinforcement and reward for good behaviour. But I tell you, these last 10 lbs have been frustratingly slow. It took 36 days to lose the last 10 (granted, in line with the 2lbs/week target I set), but much slower than the previous 50. Hit a nasty plateau where I didn't seem to shed a lb for 2 weeks, in spite of being near perfect in my calorie management. I had 2 weekend trips which were really the only deviation from my plan, and if anything, they served to get my body back to burning - lending credence to the mantra that you have to eat your calories sometimes, even if to shock your body out of starvation mode. Even in that though, I was pretty careful, save one day where I paid little regard to what I ate - but I was able to snap to back into it the next day, which is something new this time around - I'm not letting occasional setbacks derail my longer term goals this time
Some numbers now. Still not working out. Haven't even tried running yet, but we actually got a puppy, so at least I am walking more. At some point I need to put together that Bowflex I ordered and start with some strength training a build some muscle. Soccer season has started, and my coaching has me out 4-5 times per week with the two teams I coach, so I am putting in over 12,000 steps a day (23,000 one day last week at a tournament) on those days. My Fitbit has me tracking about 3500 calories burned per day, so as I eat my 2100-2400 calories per day, I know I'm keeping to 7000 calorie per week deficit.
Emotionally, still in a very good place - really feeling motivated still, in spite of minimal (but increasing) compliments on my improved appearance - not that I should expect them - but some people I guess hadn't seen me at the end of my 140 lb weight gain, and are just seeing me close to what I was the last time they saw me. Others maybe don't want to draw attention to it, given that the last time I lost 140 lbs, those compliments did little to keep me there. I am ditching my wardrobe slowly - all the 3XLs are pretty much gone now - somebody did compliment me and ask me if I was going out to buy a new wardrobe - told them I didn't have too - still had the old one - and there's a lot to be said about that statement.
See you in 10 (lbs).

That is a huge loss in a relatively short period of time. Congrats!
You're body might be 'reorganizing' itself a bit or retaining some water, that will soon be released. The less you have to lose, the slower it will happen, at least for most people. Also weightloss isn't always linear or predictable. If you are sure, you are at a deficit, just keep chuggin' along. The losses will happen. And mix things up a bit, other foods, other eating patterns, different or more exercise.0 -
That's great advice - thanks.0
