Been doing some weight exercises with a barbell. Might seem like a strange question, but does this burn calories? I do loads of cardio, just wondered. Cheers

I suppose every movement you do burns calories but calculating how many calories are burned is a dark art understood only by the mentally unhinged. In fact, I'm not even sure how they derive the numbers for cardio... :#:o:|

MFP does not seem to award any calories for strength training. when I strength train I do
    5 min warmup
6 exercises, 4 sets of 8 reps each - one minute between sets.
    20 min HIT routine.
I am seating all through this and a wet rag by the time I finish the HIT- but MFP doesn't count? >:)

If you log strength training under cardio rather than in the other box, it will give you an estimated calorie burn according to the time you spent doing it.

I log the actual activities under strength and then add in one item under cardio to account for the calories burned.

Yes strength training burns calories - just not a lot.
The MFP estimate (under the CV section remember) is a pretty reasonable estimate.
