So fitness pal says I'm over my vitamin a by 300 percent ...first question, is that too much? Second I don't even know what that means....I can't seem to find what my 100 percent daily intake should be...does fitness pal set that goal for you? Can you adjust it?

Is there a reason you are tracking vitamin "A" ?
You can change your settings to something else more meaningful to you.0 -
Unless you're eating more than 4000iu/kg every day, then there's nothing to worry about.0

That's the thing...how do I measure is....vitamin is measured on fitness pal by percentage...not grams so it's harder to track than carbs or protein. I'm tracking because I have some hair loss...wasn't sure if it was due to my vitamin a intake...like I said fitness pal says I'm over by 300 percent and I'm not sure if that exceeds the 4000 is limit? I eat a medium sized sweet potato everyday...so I'm already over just from that....0

The daily value is 5000iu per day. If you ate 300% of that you ate 15000iu. You're well within the safe dose.0

Vitamin A from food will not be problematic above the MDR. Vitamin A from supplements can be.

If you are pregnant and getting vitamin a from animal sources, yes, it can be very problematic. That's why I steer clear of organ meats when pregnant.
If the vitamin a is from plant sources, and if you are not pregnant, there is nothing to worry about.0
