Fitness success and some fun with the local Marines yesterday.

Yesterday my patrol partner Byrren and I stopped by a Marine recruiting booth where they had a pullup bar. Byrren is pretty fit, in fact he is the friend that got me hooked on Intermittent fasting and MyFitnessPal back in the day.
Anyway with 35 pounds of gear on we both did pullups. Byrren did about 15, I did 5 pullups and 10 chinups and we got some cool pictures out of it.
Plus I just love supporting the US Marines.
We had an audience at the high school snapping pictures. I only hope we are a good example to the community.
Byrren and I had so much fun we deflected the pizza given to us. We graciously accepted it with a thank you, then wrapped it up and gave it away. It's not that pizza is bad, it just didn't fit our goals for the day.
I woke up today happy that I stayed on track.
But today is a NEW day, full of more opportunities for good choices.
And that's how it is for LIFE. I achieved my fat loss goal (losing 85 pounds) and built muscle and cardio strength, but that must be RENEWED each day. Like paying rent daily.
Anyone can do it!

That is a GREAT story! And congrats on the pullups and chinups. Been lifting for 6 months and I'm not even close to a chin-up....0

Congrats, very inspirational. The title caught my eye because my Mom who passed 3 years ago at the age of 87 was always joking that she was going to go find some Marines and have some fun. My Dad was a Marine, so I guess she spoke from experience. Thanks for sharing and a happy reminder of my Mom0
