another silly question about exercising...

Hello all,

I was just wondering whether wearing a lot of clothes while exercising accelerates perspiration and therefore weight loss?

I've seen some athletes put on layers and layers of clothing and work out when they're trying to lose weight for a competition weigh-in.

Thanks a bunch in advance!

It helps lose water weight, not fat, right before a weigh in. It is often done by wrestlers or biggest loser types. It is not pleasant, and dehydration is not healthy. It can be dangerous. If you are trying to lose weight long term, stick to weekly weigh ins at the same time of day.

No you will not lose weight. Sweating is not related to fat loss.

Its not real weight loss. You are simply dehydrating and when you drink fluid again it will all come back.
