I'm not a big soda drinker, but about once a month I really have a craving for a fizzy sweet beverage. Today at Whole Foods I saw Zevia brand sodas and decided to give them a try. Zevia sodas are 0 calories and sweetened with Stevia. They have all sorts of flavors like black cherry, cola, ginger ale, grape, lemon lime, mountain (which I can only assume is supposed to resemble Mountain Dew?), orange, etc. I tried the ginger ale and the cola. Both were really good, and while not as syrupy sweet as Coke, they still were close enough, especially when you consider that they aren't filled with nasty chemicals or aspartame, yet still only 0 cals. So if you're a fan of soda at least give them a try. They sell them in 6 packs but at Whole Foods the singles were a little over $1 so they aren't too expensive either.

Nice, I may have to try those one day!
I have to brag a teensy bit because I used to be a diet soda junkie! I say "used to be" because I am five weeks clean of all soda! It has been tough, but the small amount of weight loss I have seen is encouraging and I no longer have the cravings. I now drink plain iced tea when I need a caffeine jolt. Otherwise, I drink water all day.
Next week, I plan to cut out fast food. Wish me luck while you enjoy your new 0 calorie stevia sweetened bubbly goodness!0 -
I'm having a terrible time cutting out the soda! I just wish we had a Whole Foods. :sad:0

i am just now starting to incorporate any soda into my diet.....i drink caffeine free diet pepsi (which has no cals, no sugar) and caffeine free diet dr pepper....i normally drink 9-12 glasses of water a day....0

The Zevia brand also has a ginger root beer...my personal fave. The chemical sweetners in leading brands like diet coke and such have been linked to osteoperosis(sp?) in women...that's why I stick to the natural sweetners. They taste better too.0

hmmm interesting!0

Yippeeee! I found a place locally that carries it! I'll have to check it out.0

I wish I had a Whole Foods close to my house The nearest one is about 45min away. I have to check that out though....I love anything carbonated lol.
Thanks for posting this0 -
wow I wonder if they have whole foods in Georgia????!!! Not that Im big into soda...but I been drinkin all the coke zero etc any zeros but I was told it was healthier to drink a soda and I love glass bottled cokes. So,I have a six pack and if I ever feel really bad I have one.Like a migraine day or such so these would be cool if their healthy cause as much as I can drink water knowing I could have soda would make me feel better.I dont like having to cut so much out its been rough.0

I'm a huge fan of G.T's Kombucha (I should be there spokesperson!) I used to love soda (coke zero in particular). Now that I started drinking this fermented bottled tea, I don't even want to look at soda. The flavors are really strong. Guava is the least vinegar-y and very sweet. Tastes exactly like soda!!0

Thanks! Found a store near my work on their website and since I walk daily on lunch I'll finally have a destination to go to that doesn't involve tempting clothing shopping and slow-moving mall people.
Hope they aren't $1 each in Canada (there is a warning on their website they are sold out across our great country – yea they said that so we'll see.....) cause they are just cans, I expected to be like the carbonated flavoured water in grocery stores that are $1. Since Diet Pepsi is always 25 cents a can I'm afraid my desire to avoid chemicals is battling it out with my deal-loving side and sorry... Diet Pepsi will win.
Wish me luck (both in price and availability)0 -

They are sold at many health stores - check the store locator on their website.0 -
Website says our local Kroger has it. I will stop to see. Willing to give it a try for sure0

1. props to those of you that drink kombucha. my brain knows how beneficial it is, but my stomach refuses. It instantly evokes my gag reflex lol
2. I like Izze too- it's sparkling fruit juice and water.
3. I've used san pellegrino to cut out pop. drank with a little lemon, it's working for me so far.
4. I agree as far as natural sugars go in these zevia sodas, but don't they still have the same acid as pop? I forget what it's called.. something with a p.. phosphoric acid I think.0 -

The first time I had it, I thought it was the most disgusting thing on earth. haha and then I randomly bought a bottle at whole foods and I'm going broke trying to pay for it....I really don't care to make it. haha0 -

These are available at Albertsons in the organic section also.0 -
Bumping this thread back up. Wanted to say thank you to the OP cause I had never heard of Zevia before and recently got it at the food store (Acme aka Albertsons chain) 5.99 for the 6 pack but worth it to get in my soda fix! (refuse to drink diet soda)
I tried the Dr. Zevia, tasted a lot like Dr. Pepper and didn't have to feel guilty about it!
Also if you "Like" them on facebook they have giveaways sometimes for a free 6 pack. Worth a try for sure!0 -
Most diet sodas don't contain any calories...I'm confused by the thread.0
