Sorry to ask this question, I know it's been talked about a lot, but I'd love some clarification
again if you could help me.....
I have been exercising a LOT. I currently do the 30DS every day, plus extra cardio. I usually
burn 800 calories a day at least. I've been afraid to eat a lot, as I really want to lose weight
and see all this exercise pay off. Anyhow, I usually have 800 or 900 calories left at the end
of the day, and my NET is around 350-600 I'd guess. Is that a bad thing?? I thought because
I've been exercising like crazy, I'd see more results, and I didn't want to blow it by eating too
much. Just confused and I don't want to screw up...... I work too hard to ruin my whole
fitness plan!!
So, could someone please set me straight once and for all.... please?? :flowerforyou:

I usually have 400-800 left every day.. I just make sure I eat atleast 1200 calories a day..0

Just make sure that you net 1200 and you should be fine but don't go below that. I'm usually around 1600 with exercise.0

I would help if we could see your food diary. I know a lot of people are not comfortable opening them up. At the same time, you've lost 17 pounds in about 2 months, that is great. Healthy weight loss is a pound or two a week. Feel free to look at my diary. I am almost at my goal weight and usually eat most of my exercise calories.0

Do you mean that the site says you consume more Calories than you burn? because remember, the site has to take guesses about how much you burned, based on the input that you give. It's bound to be off some, and weekly scale results probably say more than the site's estimated weekly Calorie intake and burn. but the site is great encouragement and a great learning tool and gives fun estimates about things.
Also, it's not just HOW MUCH you eat but also WHAT you eat. I am careful to avoid things like candy and butter, while not as concerned about quantity of food.0 -
That sounds like a really low net at the end of the day... remember that your body needs good fuel to work with, specially if you are exercising so much. I would suggest plan your meals so you get some of those calories in earlier in the day, or reduce your exercise if you just can't eat all that food. Most people recommend that your NET should be 1200 cals (for women), unless you are quite short or petite.
Although exercise is very good for you, I really don't think that exercising twice as much makes you lose weight twice as fast!0 -
Your NET should be 1200 or at least close to it. Read the info posted above on the MFP boards. It is important to fuel your body ESPECIALLY if you're being that active. You should be eating 1200 calories a day + some of your fitness earned calories. You dont have to eat them all but you should be eating some of them.0

Yeah, my net is around 350 tonight..... not near 1200!! :ohwell:
I'm tall, 5ft 9..... so I guess from what you're saying I should eat more...... I will check
out those links too...... It''s so hard to wrap my head around the idea of eating MORE
to lose weight....... I'm trying though........0
