Screwy App working with Fitbit

I can understand the purpose of the algorithm of calculating calories between Fitbit and myfitnesspal. It is however screwy when myfitnesspal show that I have burned a negative 35 calories from taking 3 flights of stairs and no food has been entered in the food log. Fitbit website shows that I have burned 854 calories with no food calories. Any ideas as to why this is?

Oooh I found a division by zero error in myfitnesspal software. If you enter a food entry, the algorithm works but can not handle zero being in the food calorie variable.0
