Weight lifting and muscle spasms...

I am getting horrible muscle spasms in my upper body, mostly in my arms and chest. They get so bad that they keep me awake at night. My question is, are there any supplements or anything that I can do to ease the spasms, or stop them completely? Also, how long do others go in between lifting workouts? I love lifting and think that I may just be doing it too frequently.

How often are you lifting weights? What kind of program are you doing? How much are you eating?0

I have muscle spasms in my back. I went to phyiscal therapy for about 4 months. My spasms were so bad I could barely lift up my right arm (Stress induced then I fell off my horse which made it even worse.) But after therapy and very very light weights I am so much better! I am now lifting weights with my friend without pain at all. I highly recommend icing (NO HEAT!) after each work out for about 10 minutes. I'm now bench pressing 45 lbs and I can squat 30 lbs. Butttt I worked my way up from 5 lbs and every week I would increase my weight IF I didn't have any pain... soreness is okay... pain is not! Good luck!!! I hope it works out for you! I was pleasantly surprised I never thought I would be able to lift weights again after that kind of pain!0
