Work on my arms

I am doing wonderful job with my weight lost. Any suggestions with working on my arms. I don't want every thing to slim down but my arm. Help!

You can't spot reduce so you will have to just be patient.
Your best bet for maintaining muscle you already have is a structured weightlifting program such as strong lifts.0 -

You can do some bicep and tricep exercises for your arms but keep it a very low weight and a lot of reps to keep your arms toned with your weight loss. If you go with heavy weights, your arms could stay bulkier. There's a big difference between wanting to have big arms or toned arms. Even something really small like a 5 pound weight would be fine. the more reps, the better.0

Actually, women do not and cannot bulk up like men. To get a physique like a female body builder, you'd have to live in the gym and lift far heavier than any of us women could manage.
Go to www.fitnessblender.com or www.sparkpeople.com to get some good exercises for women. My physical therapist told me not to lift for biceps and triceps on the same day because these muscles work against each other.
Lastly, if you find the weight you chose easy to do, then go up a few lbs and do fewer reps. You want to feel the burn after about 8 reps if you're lifting hand weights. But try for three sets of 10. Grunting is completely acceptable.0 -
Fitness Blender (as mentioned above) has a really great bunch of videos targeting arms. My favorite is "Strong, Lean, Toned Arms, Chest and Shoulders Workout - Lift Like you Mean It!" which sounds scary, but it's actually very good and attainable even for a beginner - it just all depends on the amount of weight you use.0

I'm not a huge fan of arguing but everything you wrote there was dreadful advice and not true. Please educate yourself on muscle hypertrophy and drop the word toned, it's not a real word. @oilphins
To OP: As you are in a deficit you will most likely not grow much if any muscle in your arms regardless. No exercise gets you bulky or toned arms. Bulky refers to an excess of muscle which, unless you are seriously training with proper nutrition and programming with your aim to be big, is not going to happen. Toned is a word made up to make having muscle and lower body fat percentages more appealing to females. To get that look eat at a deficit while lifting to maintain what you have. You may, in future, have to bulk and gain muscle in areas so they become defined but that will most likely be long into the future!

I've been lifting weights for 20 years and I use to train woman on a regular basis. My brother in law is an avid bodybuilder and knows everything there is to know about weights, so you stating me to educate myself is absolutely laughable. Blacknubian, just do some research and find what works for you.0

Btw also, woman can absolutely get big arms like men. They may not as big as men's obviously but can get big because I've seen it. Love people here who have probably never been in gym on a regular basis but think they know everything. Sounds like alyhuggan has been reading too many magazines.0

You've been lifting for twenty years and used to be a personal trainer and you were teaching people that heavy weights make you bulky and light weights make them toned? I'm actually not even going to reply to that.
My dad's second uncle twice removed's distant cousins best friends boyfriend's dad is a pro bodybuilder and knows everything there is to know about weights and pretty much everything else, so you starting* to educate me is absolutely laughable.0 -

Sure they can, big arms on females usually comes with manly features due to having higher testosterone than the average male though (the extra generally delivered by needle and/or pill form). But must have read that in a magazine too, forgot I can't go to the gym and know things. My bad!

Wouldn't that require a calorie surplus? And awesome genetics? And maybe some extra testosterone?
I know back in your day, that was a common scare tactic to keep women from lifting weights, but it's simply not true. We know better now. More women should lift heavy. Maximize fat loss and minimize muscle loss. It the only way I've seen sexy results!

I've never stepped foot in a gym yet spent upwards of £3000 (close to all my earnings from working) at 18 years old on gym equipment to make one in my garage as there isn't really a good gym near me. Just bought it so my garage is more aesthetically pleasing. I don't actually use any of it, I just read my magazines!
I also never said women have to be cycling to be big, but due to generally having less testosterone than men most will never be "big" without aid.

EDIT: Just realised there's a picture of me deadlifting on my profile, but like you said, I've never stepped foot in a gym, I took the bar outside to deadlift on the grass to maintain my gym virginity.0 -

I can only apologize, I was just back from a holiday so retaining a lot of water as I let myself go and wearing a jumper a size too big for me. After 20 years of lifting and you are judging people by their appearance. Way to go, no wonder you are no longer a personal trainer. @oilphins0
