That friday feeling

Well it's friday, I'm in a good mood, and a few years ago, fridays used to mean a night out on the town, getting glammed up and going dancing. After that it was friday evenings in, with a movie, a bottle of wine, maybe a take away and a tub of ice cream or a big packet of crisps (chips) and getting drunk. And now? well now I watch what I eat, and drink, I dont fancy getting drunk, I dont want that take away pizza, I'll probably go for a jog, and I have to be up early in the morning. All of that's great, but I miss that "end of the work week" celebration.

So what do you do to celebrate that "friday feeling"? without a take away, without alcohol, without a big tub of ice cream!

    I dont fancy getting drunk,

Good for you! I kept thinking I would outgrow it with time or new health priorities, but here I am at FORTY and still fancy getting drunk most days.

Probably the biggest incentive not to drink is to feeling of trying to do your morning jog hungover and dehydrated  :noway: :embarassed:

Sorry I don't have any ideas for you, but I wanted to say Hat's Off for not fancying getting drunk anymore! :flowerforyou:

On this day I am hosting a 13 year old sleep over with 10 little girls running around. I will be keeping out of sight as much as I can but they still need some supervision. A bottle of wine sounds good though.................:drinker:

Often on Fridays we head out of town. If it is a Friday we're around we will either have a quiet night in (making dinner, catching up on DVR shows) or meet up with friends to all make dinner together. :)

Sorry. Wine is still in my plans. I stopped all alcohol during the week. But wine and beer will never leave me. Dinner with friends and pool days in the summer! That is my life and it makes me happy.

For me, fridays are just like any other day since I work on the weekends too. However, I try to give it all I have on the weekends when working out. After I reach my goal, then I can truly party hard and celebrate.

Dinner with friends would be great. I seem to have moved so often (as have my friends) that I only tend to have friends through clubs and societies now, and only socialise with them when there's an event on (which does happen a lot).

I don't know, I'm just feeling particularly friday-ish today. I all I have planned is a jog and an early night!

Somehow, movies in dont seem quite so indulgent without that tub of haagen daz and a glass or 4 of wine! Don't get me wrong, I love the fitter, healthier me, and fitter healthier husband (he's also trying to lose weight and get fitter), but I miss our drunken evenings in too.

Yes. We also make our own wine and beer, and it's fun to do with friends. :):)

Sharing a bottle of wine with hubby while we watch a movie is still fun! Don't 100% cut that out of your marriage, just don't buy the ice cream and opt for frozen yogurt or sorbet instead. :) We don't do this all of the time, but it's a fun date night in (and log every glass of course). :) And homemade popcorn is always a healthy snack option Vs. the microwave kind. You can make it with a little butter, sea salt or spices and have a healthy whole grain snack Vs ice cream for the movie and wine time.

I'd suggest that Onesnap, but hubby's totally cut out alcohol, as he's found that his hayfever has dramatically improved since doing so. He's also going to be exercising all night and having an early night, so a mutual wine and a movie is out. Ah well. Guess I do miss getting drunk a little!

i kinda let lose on the weekend.
i need something to get me thru the week.
i drink semi-dry red wine (and tell myself its good for the heart), limit myself to 2 beers (try to go for the lite ones, but i'm more of a lager fan so :indifferent: ), and whiskey sour's pack vitamin c.

The tub of icecream though, that one I dont go near!

Friday night is my relaxed eating night. I may or may not indulge in pizza. Usually have Greek salad, a cold quality brew, and maybe desert. Sit in front of the boob tube and catch up on Survivor...(yes, I know Boston Rob won. He is such a stud.) it is known in my house as pizza/Survivor night. The only night that I don't cook...definitely worth celebrating:) definitely find a way to bring back the Friday feeling!
