It's hard to tell, actually, because it depends on the brand & cut of jeans. Designer jeans will run small numbers for larger sizes, the newer high waisted jeans will fit differently from the old low hipslung ones. Non stretch will be a different size from the pairs with a higher proportion of Lycra. Also Canadian sizes are numbered a step larger than the US. (if you take a 6 in Canada you are a 4 in the US.) At 132 (my happy weight) I fit 2's, 4's and 6's. I have even squeezed into a 0 but it ain't pretty. And we won't even get started with the difference in UK and European sizes from N. America - each country has their own. ;)

for school I have a book that gives me average sizes (jean size and weight) based on weight and/or height.
so for the hell of it,
I thought it would be a good idea to share.
do you know a size jean or weight you want to be?
message me -> your height and weight, what weight you want to be or size you want to be.
ill give you the average size weight for a jean size with your exact height or ill give you the jean size you'll meet (on average) for a certain weight based on your exact height! (this is for fun!)

Would it be easier to take a picture of the chart and post it?

yeah, this is on average, that goes for the "average jean" too.
i can also do euro sizes.
and tell them what the smallest size they can get to based on just there weight and height.
    (not there shape though)

I have been 134 pounds, and I'm about 5'3". What size do you think I was then?

    6

I was pretty sure I'd be an outlier, but thought it might be helpful because you said this is for learning experience. At that weight, I was a size 10. I have a large frame, and my hips just don't get any narrower than that.

5'11, 148. I'm at this weight currently so I'll see how good this book is...Women's USA sizes.

    size 6/8

That's pretty cool. Dead on. Good luck with your future career! You will rock it!
