Lost another 10 lbs...progress pic looks worse than before? 19/f/5'8

Aside from in my thighs, I actually look bigger now? I know I've lost an inch and a half off my waist but it just makes my belly look even bigger than before. My gut is the same size it was 50 lbs ago, just smoother...at least I'm down to a size 8 now so finding clothing is ridiculously easy.
I'm still proud of my progress it just gets discouraging that everytime I get used to my new body it changes again. I'm not trying to fish for compliments here, I guess I'm just wondering if I'm crazy because my family says I look fine but my back rolls came back again and it's driving me mad.

First of all weight loss is not linear. Us females have a harder time loosing it in the places we want to shed the most.
Second, there is a 1000 times difference in the before and after pics.. It would have been good to share your side view and back...
Your family is right... you look just FINE! Keep it up..0 -
I see a huge difference!! You are doing great. Keep at it.0
-
I see a huge difference, too! You're doing great!0
-
Dude - You look fantastic. Stop beating your pretty self up. See the beauty and stop picking yourself apart.0
-
I agree, I easily see the difference! and to ^^bussybee3 as well! Great job!!0
-
PS, your stomach looks so much better. Keep up with all the good you are doing.0
-
no you actually do look slimmer, don't get discouraged. keep it up.0
-
there is a diff. for sure. also you are standing differently in both pictures, so the angle etc can alter what/how you see it. in your March photo you look like you are standing at a more alert and straight stance, where as in the May one not so much, your shoulders seem a little slouched. At least that is how I see it. everyone sees things differently but I can def see a difference keep up the great work.0

You do look great. Your back may be shrinking in a weird way but just love it and let it do its thing and I'm sure the rolls won't stay for long.0
-
Um, no. You definitely look slimmer in the last photo. Seriously.0
-
look at your face....how thin it is and the gap between your legs.....you look great! Keep up the good work!0
-
First off - you look great! You're definitely making good progress!
When I was losing the bulk of my weight, I felt like I went through 'cycles' of looking good and not so good. I attributed this to the way the weight was coming off since it was coming off in different places at different times. So I'd lose some weight in my chest, back, and arms -result: midsection looked big. But then the midsection would thin out some and I'd be OK again.
Just keep doing what you're doing and everything will sync up!0 -
youre making good progress!
I've lost 35 pounds since january and just did pics yesterday (did some in jan). to ME- icant see ANY DIFFERENCE AT ALL.
BUT... i know there IS a difference. I am having to buy smaller clothes, my friends make comments, I just had to buy new underwear....
we just don't see the changes in OURSELVES.
doing photo less often (in your case) might help you see bigger changes. I only do mine every 3 or 4 months (and for me, i still dont see it LOL). i do a weekly weigh in to log and measurements every month.0 -
You look fantastic, and there's definitely a difference in the last two pictures, especially in your legs and hips. We never see a difference in ourselves.
I'll let you in on a secret... I only posted my profile picture because my husband told me there was a difference. I still don't see it.
We are ALWAYS our own worst critics.0 -
Agree with above posts. You look great!!!0
-
I can definitely see a difference! You are making amazing progress!0

It's in your head. But I get it. I went through a stage like that. I was PISSED because I really honestly believed I looked worse. I don't know what was going on...maybe measurements/proportions were a little off while I lost. Anyway, things evened out again.
You look great and I'm jealous of your slim legs!0 -
You've slimmed down around the hip and waist area, which is accentuating what is above. It will go! Definitely look better in the latest picture :-)
The last of my weight will go from my thighs and I know I'll look odd, at least to me, at various stages along the way.
Just keep doing what you're doing lass.0 -
You're looking great, killer legs!0

You look great. Transformation is happening0

You look great!!! Focus more on the positives because we are all going through or have been through a transformation and are a work in progress. Sometimes, in our own eyes, we look a hot mess and other times we like what we see. While we are focused on the hot mess, we are missing all of the good changes. I'm sure you are losing inches in various places and your clothes are fitting differently. Rejoice in that and continue along your journey. You are doing a great job.0

You definitely look great- and smaller! I know when I'm losing weight, sometimes it takes a few extra lbs to make me look proportioned- example- I seem to always look great at the 5 mark and awful at the 0. So I may think I look awesome at 185 but then not like 180 (even thought is 5lbs less!), but then love 175. Doesn't make sense but I think its my body weight settling in or something.0

Dude - You look fantastic. Stop beating your pretty self up. See the beauty and stop picking yourself apart.
wise words! Begin to love yourself along the way and you'll see the difference mentally, emotionally and physically along the way. I think that's why some have a difficultly seeing changes after even losing 150 lbs. They still feel fat, it's so much mental, it's hard work to change how we see ourselves and to self love. But it can be done.
You look smaller to me...but what's important is that YOU see that, it doesn't matter as much what we see. We don't live in your mind and body.

You look Amazing!!! Keep it up and be patient... belly fat is the last to go!0

You need to know that your results clearly show in the before and after pictures. It's tough to see your own progress; sometimes I still see the old me when I look in the mirror. I have to remind myself how good I feel and what size pants I now wear.. Give yourself a pat on the back, good job!0
-
thank you guys, it helps to be reminded how others view things like this. Its like I KNOW I must be smaller but I can never tell. Very weird feeling. Thanks for the encouragement0

I think you look great, but would look even better if you chose clothes that suited your body type better. Your legs are thin and you carry more weight in your midsection, so wearing skin tight leggings and looser top makes your midsection look even bigger, it accentuates your apple shape. Wear something more structured/fitted in the midsection and looser or boot cut type of pants and you will look more proportional. Those tight workout pants are very popular but I've seen very few women who actually look good in them, my size 8 self included. They show every flaw!!
And yes I know these are just workout clothes, who cares if they are comfy? It really doesn't matter, I'm thinking more about times when you do want to look hot. Or are judging your body shape.0 -
You look amazing! Great transformation. I am 5'8" also but my goal is 170 lbs. Thank you for the motivation, and keep up the great work.0

And for the record I went through that phase of thinking I look worse after loss, for me more because my hips were getting smaller while the waist and belly wasn't changing. Not just in my mind, I had measurements. I looked more square with more pudge in the middle even though I was smaller overall. Now my waist is changing and the hips are stalled, giving me back more hourglass to my shape. I think it just evens out over time, but it isn't a consistent loss in every spot the whole way.0
-
I think you need to stop looking at yourself every 10 lbs. 10 lbs doesn't look any different on me, so i just don't worry about it.0
