What do you do to get yourself back on track?
Weekends are tough, especially weekends with family parties, special events etc. So when I want to get back on track eating-wise, I do two things: (1) drink tea; and (2) eat apple.
Formerly, I didn't like to eat apples (although I like the taste). It was the actual eatting I never wanted to do- I would rather a different (sugary) snack. But I found that if I ate one, it tasted good. And if I ate them habitually, I wanted to eat them more (and even began to crave them).
My old snacking habit had been to eat sugary, starchy processed food. Once I broke that hold, it was fairly easy to stay away.
But sometimes I slip, and find myself back at the 'no apple, can I have chips instead?' start.
So what is your gateway food for heatlhy eating? What food (or activity) do you eat (or do) to stop the foolishness and get back into your healthy habits?

I always tell myself.. , "Self... you worked SO hard to get here.. is this cookie/chip/drink REALLY worth it?" I will often take a nibble and then go get a glass of water or find something else to do. I have a party tonight and I know I will push the limit on my cals, but tomorrow I will be distracted and busy so I will get right back on the horse again!0

I had the same problem! however, my dietician advised that if you know that you have a special event coming up and you can't control the food going to be served, it's always good to get a good workout in the morning before the event. You will have those extra calories to spare. This doesn't allow me to feel guilty and I'm still on track!!!!!
Hope this helps!!!0 -
I remind myself that nothing tastes as good as thin feels!
If I am offered or start going crazy and have the mind set that I really need to have.... (insert food here)... I will have a small bite and then talk to myself about whether or not it is worth the calories and do I really want to enter it in my diary. Many times I have found myself putting something in my mouth to spitting it out into a napkin and not even eating the bite.0 -
i have a photo of my before self on the fridge and one one side of it a letter to me reminding me why i need to get the weight off and on the other side is a list of my goals and how far i have come, the list of goals and how far i have come is much longer, i talk to myself out loud and say repeatedly "you need to refocus" as many times as i can, i then begin a new day picking up where i left off.
we will all have these days just dont dwell on it, stand up. take a breath and get back in the race, we are all rooting for you.0
