Ok I'm back to starting running again after maybe a year off (oops lol) problem is I deal with Charlie horses randomly, and only in my left calve. Jogged for twenty minutes today and I can already feel my calve tensing up. I stretched before and after. Hydrating myself as well, taking multi vitamins.

Any tips to prevent a sudden onset of a cramp? I swear they're debilitating

Eating foods high in potassium, like bananas, works for me.

One odd thing I've heard that helps is pickles and pickle juice... no kidding.

Bananas and pickle juice are on my Kroger list today. My son loves bananas anyhow. And I thought I heard of pickle before somewhere, had forgotten.

Dandelion tea....I used to get these cramps feelings often but since I started drinking dandelion tea, which is high in potassium, not a pee from my left calf!

Bananas work wonders for me! I eat one before I do my walk/run n it helps a lot!

Did you go straight from no activity to running? It might be a case of too much too soon. Have you tried walking and then easing into running?

I got charlie horses all the time with my 1st pregnancy (which is apparently a thing). I tried bananas and upping my potassium, but those didn't work for me. But, it can't hurt to try!

Well I'm always on my feet, they just suck. I warmed up, walked then did a nice pace jog. I just got bananas tonight.
