Help with weight loss goal

Hey folks, I am currently weighing in at 9 stone 4 (130lbs) and I am 5 foot 5 inches. When I first started losing weight (about 1 and a half years ago or more) I was 10 stone 11 (151lbs). I got to around 8 stone 12 (123lbs) and held that from Dec 2014 to Feb 2015 but that was a real struggle to actually maintain. Anyway, I've been eating quite a lot of crap over the last few months due to school stress, but I have finally decided to try and get to 8 stone 8 and then try to maintain that. I exercise 4 times a week, and each exercise day consists of 15 minutes of lifting heavy weights and 45 minutes of cardio (which is a mixture of heavy duty interval training and fat burning exercises). In total, each time I'm at the gym I burn 350 calories. I think the main thing is actually getting my eating right...not eating junk food and controlling my diet. The MyFitnessPal app suggests eating 1300 calories on non-exercise days but 1700 on exercise days, but surely if I want to lose weight I ought not to eat the calories back? I was thinking to eat around 1300 calories every day, including exercise days, for 2-3 weeks and then see what my weight loss is like and judge from that? I really would like to be at 8 stone 8 by mid July, do you think this sounds like a reasonable goal? Also, how do I get my body over sugar cravings specifically? I find because I am so stressed with school all the time - I'm craving sugar a lot and find it hard to resist!

Thanks for your advice.

You know this already, but to lose weight, you need to be eating in a deficit. Everyone's metabolism is different so that means something different for everyone. What MFP suggests isn't always right since its in no way customized to your body. It's a trial and error process. Try eating 1,300 calories and see what happens. Just remember, you shouldn't drop calories too low because your metabolism will eventually become damaged and it will lead into yo-yo dieting and gaining back the weight.

I don't know if you're doing this, but try counting macros. That's far more important than just calories. As far as sugar cravings, fruits are great. I always eat quest bars to satisfy my sweet tooth. They only have 1g of sugar and contain 20g protein and 17g fiber. Make sure you allow yourself treats too. Else you'll eventually fall back into your old habits and be where you started.

The goal seems realistic if you stay dedicated. If not, you'll still be able to make great progress by July. Just remember not to get discouraged, it takes time to do it right.

    Good luck!!

8 stone 8 is pretty light for your height?

Maybe you need to look at your bodyfat % instead of focusing on scale weight if you're not happy with your figure at your current weight.
