Actually came across MFP about 6-7 months ago and started useing it for a while then stopped when I went outof town. Now I am being considered for bariatric surgery and one of the requirements is to see a nutritionest. She turned me back to MFP and since I have been useing it I am much more consious of my eating habits. This has been better than the other diet doctors I have seen as they all say the same thing stay away from fried foods, red meat, sweets, and eat more vegatables and drink water. For a snack you can have 6-8 almonds. None address my basic problem which is after 6-8 almonds I'm still hungry. I am trying very hard to change my lifestyle which will include exercise when my foot is better. Right now my left heel is painful to walk on most of the time. I can walk and even jog a little but it does hurt evenwhen I am not putting pressure on it. I do have an appointment with a poditrist next week so maybe that will help. No idea what or how long I was suppose to make this intro so if I bored you oops my bad.

Focus on keeping your food diary on MFP. Don't worry so much about the exercise right now. Changing dietary habits can be the majority of your weight loss success anyway. Start small. Make one good change at a time rather than all at once. It's less overwhelming.
If you want my 2 cents, try losing with your dietician and MFP for a bit, heck, I'd throw in some counseling, too. Making this decision for bariatric surgery is serious. Maybe you can achieve some great results on your own. In any event, you'll have to learn healthy eating habits regardless of choosing surgery or not.
I know two people that have had a bariatric procedure done. One was super successful, but she can no longer eat like a person that didn't have this surgery. She also has to have plastic surgery for the extra skin from losing so quickly. The other gent wound up losing a bit of weight, but remained fairly heavy because of his dietary choices.0 -
In regards to the exercise, try to think of things that don't involve your heel - the key is to get your heart rate up!
Maybe riding a bike, some weights, sit ups, boxing... there is plently of things that will work if you want it to.
