Good evening! I had over 100 days that I input my info as far as exercise and what I are and I forgot to log in one day and now I am at day one. Can you please restore my streak days because this is making me wanting to give up. Please give me those days back PLEASE. Thanks

A streak is a streak and unfortunately not logging in one day breaks the streak.
You can force the days to be back but obviously it will no longer be accurate for what you have done.

Why can't you log the day after the fact?

She's talking about the counting days that accumulate for everyday you have logged in a row. Right now I am at 130 days of straight signing on to MFP.

I know it's nice to see that big number but please don't give up. You've put at least 100 days into this and that's there regardless. Keep on keeping on!

It has happened to all of us at one point or another. Just keep moving forward.

It will work, but as we have all said, it won't be truthful since she did not actually log on everyday.

It depends. I went on a cruise where I paid for internet connection and it wasn't cheap, just so that I could keep my streak. I tried very hard to log in every day even just for the few minutes I had. The connection wasn't always there and some days I hadn't been able to get on line. The fact I had tried I think warrented me getting my days back as it wasn't my fault. I think the ceicumstances should come into this and how hard you try or whether you just forgot.

She said she 'forgot' which is why it wouldn't be truthful. Last time I was on here losing weight I was camping one weekend. I logged onto mfp and entered my food everyday but one day there was zero internet connection the whole day. Since Idid log on and entered my food I did change the days back to what they should have been. If I hadn't tried that day, then I wouldn't have changed my days back.

It's the extremely complex morality issue of resetting the MyFitnessPal streak. Oh, to be worthy of this most high honor

Why would not logging for one day make you want to give up?

That is fair enough. In the great big scheme of things, how important is this? If it keeps OP logging on and makes her happier to do this does it really matter to you? I think not. I agree if you forget then you are not being honest to yourself, just like missing off some food you might have eaten to make things look as though you were within your goal, or not logging because you were over. Some people do that. It is up to OP and her concience what she does with her logging and how happy or sad it all makes her feel.

No one has said not to do it, just that it would not be truthful. It's supposed to be a streak. If you seriously can't take it and will consider stopping losing weight because of it then I guess it's something you'll have to fib yourself on. But is that really the best option for yourself (the general 'you' not YOU)?

I agree it wouldn't be truthful but OP is obviously upset about it. Everyone is different and the option is there to change things so it is up to OP. I merely gave her the means of doing it. I am not saying she should or shouldn't. I am not the judge and jury here, her concience is.

Jeez guys! The intent is there, the effort is there and we are all human beings. Forgetting to log in and losing the streak for one day messes your sense of achievement it up. It is not a rational thing at all but it helps some of us stay on tracking knowing that since the beginning we have remained committed to ourselves.MFP offers the possibility to repair the forgotten day, when it sees that a person has consistently logged in.

We are flexible enough to say we have off days, log it and move on. We are accepting enough to know that when someone goes on a binge or doesn't exercise for a few days, that they will get back on the band wagon with our encouragement. Losing several months showing how many days we have remained committed to ourselves can make it seem that we are starting at 0 again with nothing to show for it! - It is not a rational thought but the mind makes us see believe weird stuff and each time we log in thereafter, it will feel that all of our efforts are not showing.

Maybe you want to see something like logged in 87 days of 100 or something like that to make it more accurate, but in the interim it's either 100% streak days or 0 if we don't have the option to log in the missing streak day. Give the OP a break and hope that if you are in the same position, that others will show support and understanding.

I wouldn't request to reset mine cos it would remind me to log in. I should have over 20 days streak but for my useless internet connection.

No, there's no login reminder here. You go to the website, put in a number and your login streak becomes that number

There's an option on either the website or app to setup all sorts of reminders, but that's different

Sorry about your internet connection! But it sounds like you're doing okay regardless :)

You misunderstood my first comment!! I said if I lose my streak I would not ask to reset cos it would serve as a reminder for me to log in. If I lose my streak it because of the internet here. Maybe that's because I live in Nigeria but that a different thread. Thank you anyway for your comment.

LOL ok. I was in Nigeria over the Christmas break. I was using AT&T Internet to login and trust me it was a get in get out ASAP type thing as I literally couldn't afford to be on one second longer than necessary :) The local plans would have been cheaper but I didn't want to deal with anything other than my not unlocked phone...
