    Hello!! A treadmill is not a bad start for cardio or a jog to start off and then build yourself up. I do martial arts as a part of my cardio. I also use a treadmill on my off days. I don't do any real heavy lifting I'm not trying to do power lifting. There are a lot of others people on here that are a lot more knowledge able about weight training than I am that will help you with that as well. Hopefully this helped you some. This is just what I do and it work for me. Good luck to you.
