If you lose weight will you lose inches even with no exercise?
I know you can't spot reduce, I know exercise has other benefits.
However I have an injury at the minute so can't exercise. I do work as I nurse so I am on my feet most of the 12.5 hr shift I do 3* a week. So my days off I am trying to rest so my knee injury so it does not get worse until I see the physio and find out exactly what I can do.
As I need to lose inches off my thighs to get in my summer clothes for July. Which again I know you can't spot reduce.
I just want to know that while I am not exercising but I am losing weight will I also lose inches/cm?

You will absolutely lose weight and inches without exercise. Diet is the key to weight and fat loss. Exercise helps with strength, flexibility, energy, improving your appearance and with overall health and well-being. You'll look and feel a lot better if you include fitness and exercise into your routine, but you will still shrink down without it.0

Definitely. As you lose weight, the number of cells within your body will decrease, and so the volume must decrease. Getting a lot of walking 3 times a week will help to preserve the muscle mass in your legs (including your thighs which you said you were concerned about) and so the majority of weight lost there will be fat cells. Since fat cells tend not to be very dense, if you stick to your calorie deficit and lose weight, your size will definitely go down. No two ways about it. Good luck0

You will, but it would probably be way slower than with HIIT / strength training thrown in. At least, that's the case with me. If I were you I'd try and work out around my injury. That's what I did when I hurt my hamstring recently.0

A friend with a damaged cruciate ligament was advised that cycling was safe with a knee injury. Or how about swimming as its non weight-bearing?
But as others have said you should lose weight if calories in are less than calories burned through the the day. Good luck.0 -
Were you worried you'd lose weight but somehow still stay the same size? The weight's gotta go somewhere!
You can definitely lose inches without exercise, good luck0 -
Hiya, I can't exercise much as I'm disabled, I do a little walking when I'm able and sometimes on my exercise bike.
I eat 1600 calories a day and i lose 2lb a week plus I've lost 2 inches off my waist and 2 inches off my hips
I used to be a mental health nurse before I was medically retired at 280 -
I had knee surgery at the end of March and I haven't been able to do much in the way of exercise besides 10 to 20 minute walks and my physio. I also had a cadrio incident that's holding me back a bit as well. Since April 10th, I've lost 8.4 lbs and inches so your answer is yes.0
