I've been doing a lot of research at home on fitness, nutrition etc and have been focussed on this for a few months now. I'm really wanting to start a career in the fitness industry and have been looking at a lot of different PT courses but they all seem to have mixed reviews or have reviews that look like they're clearly paid to be written! Has anyone qualified as a PT? What course providers did you use/recommend?

any help would be appreciated!

    Hi there,
I am in a similar situation to you.
Did you start a course? How is it going.
Looked into 'Future In Fitness' but this would be online learning, not sure if this would be best for me.
It's looking like a total minefield.
I live in cambridge, and there are a few course's that are run that are local to me. Could only do part time as have a family and full time job.
    Kind Regards

Have a look at YMCA -http://www.ymcafit.org.uk/
I'm sure I've seen instructors with certificates for their courses.

If you want to get a job from it, make sure it's a REPs level 3 course, otherwise a lot of gyms won't touch you.

I've a few friends who are trainers and a few people on my list doing the course, I will see if any of them have anyhting they want to share.

Also, don't know your age, but there are schemes where you can get the course initially funded by a government loan, and only pay back when you are earning, and at a % of what you earn, kind of like student loans. If you want more info on this, I can post some details here too.
